Wichita gets kinda clobbered by Iowa 84-61
Iowa's lead was 20 well before halftime and was 30 (51-21) before 3 minutes into 2nd half...
I think Iowa coasted after that ..Wichita drops to 2-4 (only 1-4 vs. Division I) but they are dealing with some injuries ...but "experts" have always told us that you can't use injuries as an excuse....

Evansville leads UC-Irvine 51-45 with 8 minutes left

While a single injury shouldn't be used as an excuse, I don't know of many teams that could win games while missing 4 of its top 5 or 6 players. IMO that's a perfectly valid excuse to struggle.

stick-- I agree with you 100% and was joking a little because nobody ever allowed the injury reasoning for a certain coach we had here...

but few midmajors have the amount & depth of talent to be able to absorb the loss of 2 or 3 starters - or maybe even just one without dropping off quite a bit.
Wichita is now down three starting-caliber players including a potential MVC POY - and I think the inujuries definitely explain the losing streak.

I understood you weren't being serious and were more dogging on the stupid stereotypes. The saying I've heard mentioned around the WSU boards that makes the most sense is "Don't worry so much, the Cavalry is coming" lol. Very fitting as we approach the return this week of Fred (if he's ready) and the addition of Frankamp (if he gets his exams done early). Hopefully Grady can make strides and get back to 100% and return sooner rather than later.

I do not know Grady's situation .... but Peyton Manning and his older brother were both born with upper spines that were uniquely prone to pinching the nerves, yet they did not know it until they had similar symptoms of tingling in the arms when struck in the head or neck....
              - I am sure they will look carefully at Grady's spine to assure he's safe to play.

Yup, Its completely up in the air and nearly 100% on the doctors to figure out what's best for him. With that said, His father has already said he expects Grady back within 2 weeks at 100%. I'm sure that is just hopeful talk from a dad.

If it comes down to the will to get back, Grady will be back. He came to WSU because he had dreams of playing in the NCAA tournament. He's going to work his tail off to get there. With that said, I hope whatever choice he/the doctors make has his long term interests first. Being able to run and play with his grand kids 40-50 years from now, is a lot more important than playing in a tournament.
