Agree. Delaware is not a good team, and they are missing 2 of their key regular players. Gotta defend the dribble drive way better. Can't keep giving up layups to their small guards. And gotta finish at the offensive end. Our guys are slow to release their shots and invite teams to block or take away.

Blue Hens up 20 now with 12:00 to play. Awful basketball by the Braves.

This is brutal. We have a lot of young players that are going to make physical mistakes. The amount of mental mistakes these guys are making is not good. Coach Wardle must be getting very frustrating. Physical mistakes by young players are going to be made due to confidence, quickness, strength and just general mismatches. Making this many mental mistakes is another issue. I felt going into this season we could win 6-8 games this season. Six may be a shot in the dark at this time. This was one of the games I thought we would win.

You can't give up on the kids or the program. This is going to be a long process.

A truly forgettable game. Bradley played about as badly as they could, shot poorly, fouled too much, turned it over, and had porous defense.

Nothing positive to take from this game save for there were no injuries.

                  Be Patient

At the June 2nd Tradition Luncheon, Coach Wardle asked us for patience this season. We are at the bottom. We have to get better and I think we will because Coach Wardle is a good teacher. I had also hoped we would win at least 9 games. I am hoping for it all to gel. As poor as it was tonight, we can't give up. We have to keep supporting them. As was said, it is going to be a long process.

Even though we have had poor results, we are still better off than with the last administration. I really believe it. Its just going to take a while to rebuild. The kids are playing hard. It has to get better. It just has to.

Thank you for your support! I am sure they will learn and get better, but it is still hard to take games like tonight, especially after the last 4 seasons of agony and multiple blowouts.

Hope we see a quick turnaround against North Dakota on Saturday night!

You're Welcome and Coach's Post Game Comments

You are welcome! Following the Braves is a cinch thanks to this forum!!

I'm frustrated too. The past four years has put us at rock bottom. We are on our way up. I'm sure Coach Wardle is upset. I could hear it in his voice and tone. Time to "man up" and play competitively. That's what I heard him say and not say.

at the very least we gotta watch the tape and figure some way to stop them from easily and regularly driving right into the lane for easy layups
This was a layup-fest and to top it off we got called for a bunch of fouls when we were late to defend them.
We knew when we were left with zero junior & senior talent it was gonna be a struggle -
How can our senior guard who has played 102 games and almost 2000 minutes in his college career give us a stat line like this...
                            0-2, 0 pts, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 stls, 0 blk, 2 fouls, 1 turnover?
I'm not saying it was all his fault but give me D'Angelo McBride if that's all our senior leader is gonna produce.

If there was a remote bright spot- Scottie James, in just 15 minutes, gave us 7 pts & 7 rebs yet he probably wouldn't have even played had Callum Barker not been riding the pines with fouls

Wanna know when Bradley will be decent or good again?

Just wait til Illinois is a Top 25 or more so a Top 10 team... then Bradley will be good.

Cause no matter how good Bradley is, Illinois will be better.

Seems we can't be good and get recognition in the State of Illinois ever.

                                Always in the shadow.

So... when we finally get to be good and maybe warrant attention or press... all eyes (especially from the PJS) will be on Illinois.

And so... I expect Gross is maybe on the hotseat, new AD... Gross gone this year (after the season), hire new coach for next season, then rebuild for a year, then Top 25. That means we have the next 2 seasons to wait until we start to get good.
