a little blurb by Lonnie Schwindenhammer - on Nate Kennell (on page 2)- also a mention of the Manual guys and some other local high school basketball

also - a nice article about Valpo's Alec Peters
With 10 seconds left on the clock and Valparaiso up one point, on the road, against the University of Rhode Island, Washington native Alec Peters stepped up to the free-throw line and sank two late f…

I have seen at least 2 different final scores for Metamora-Morton, but Nate did have 18 points & 6 rebounds.

              recruiting

Metamora is a very good high school Basketball team! It looks like their coach and boosters have done a great job of putting together a strong recruitment of players from Dunlap Peoria Heights and Metamora. With that being said I'm very excited to see Nate in a Bradley Uniform!

                      Washington beat Metamora 43-40

and the PJS has coverage - LINK

Low scoring game with both teams seemingly doing some tricky things to beat their arch rival. Washington went to a stall - sort of a 4-corners - each time they had leads of 6, 8 or 9 pts...but then each time the stall failed and Metamora caught back up again. Game was tied or a 1-point game down the stretch & in the final minute Washington got some FTs for the lead.
Nate Kennell had just 10 pts, and played PG most of the game trying to get his teammates involved. He took very few shots and seemed to even turn down good shots early on in favor of trying to find shots for teammates.
Even in the final seconds when Metamora had the final possession down 43-40 and the chance at one more shot, Kennell brought the ball up court and dished off to forward Michael Adams for a 3-pointer that missed. I know Washington played good defense on Kennell, but it seemed that he didn't even look to take the shot. He also didn't seem to even look for a shot in the 1st half and had just 2 pts at half.
Washington never plays anyone over 5-11, so they do a pretty good job with such a small lineup, and are active on the glass. Metamora is a much bigger team and yet got outhustled on a lot of rebounds.
Good atmosphere, place was close to packed. The Manual coaches were there, as were a couple of former Bradley guys, and saw a couple juco coaches..

Washington's guard duo of senior Lou Griffith & junior Devin Whitelow will likely both have the chance to play somewhere in college, but both are about 5-9, so I suspect their opportunities will range from DII or DII, NAIA, or maybe juco. Metamora's Michael Adams, a senior, also might get the chance somewhere.

Also, the Dunlap situation was a common topic that people seemed to be talking about.

What about Morton? If you are talking about AJ Youngman he was in Morton for like 5 games. Then his father didn't like how the team was being coached started looking for a new team and as everyone knows he ended up at Manual! So what's your point?

Pretty obvious, at least to me, that BSSFan was saying don't overlook Morton.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

How did AJ Youngman get brought up into this discussion?

You said Dunlap, Peoria Heights. You forgot Morton. Metamora has a player who used to live and play basketball in Morton.

they also have one who played last year & was the best player at Peoria Heights, and one who played last year and was the best player at Dunlap.
By contrast, Manual has no players who transferred in this year and only one that I am aware of who transferred in last year.
