Boy, I sure think Nate is going to help Bradley next year. I have to think he will be a big help, even as a freshman. He is that scorer that we need, if he makes a rapid transition to D1 ball? He will have some experienced young men to help him along. next year. We won't be starting 5 freshman again for a long while.
Here is the most recent YouTube video of Nate- it is from a Fall AAU showcase event in late September (I'm surprised nobody has posted any videos from his HS games). Nate is wearing #10 in the dark shirt, and he plays point guard in these video highlights. He handles the ball well, and his shot has improved and is quicker. He hits a variety of shots, and makes some nice passes.
One of the best players in Illinois' 2016 class, 6'5 Metamora High School SG Nate Kennell is committed to Bradley University. Kennell led his Metamora squad ...

Don't get to see any Peoria area HS games. How does Nate compare with Aaron Zobrist at this stage of his career?
Nate reminds me a lot of Jeremy Crouch when Jeremy played at Pekin HS. I am not the only one to notice the similarities. I have had a couple former D1 coaches as well as an IHSA HOF'er tell me the same. Jeremy was able to step his game up and get a lot stronger at Bradley, and it remains to be seen how well Nate can do that. But the Nate-Jeremy comparison is a lot closer than with Zobrist.
Zobrist got no D1 offers and was taken somewhat reluctantly by Mo as a walkon, mostly because some Bradley boosters urged him to let Zobrist walk on. But Mo was quickly convinced he could be a benefit to the team. I recall Molinari telling me early on that Zobrist was the best pure shooter he had ever seen.
Metamora just beat Pekin HS in a low scoring game..
Metamora 37 - Pekin 35
edit--- Nate Kennell had 12 points
and ps-- another Jeremy Crouch type player I would have loved to see us recruit - Glenbard West's Justin Pierce...
in the end the only offers he had were low major & signed with William & Mary..
But Pierce is making quite a name for himself - averaging 26 ppg, has Glenbard West at 16-0 and getting talk as Mr. Basketball...
