  • Now that we've honored Joe Stowell & Chet the Jet

Suggestions for other people to bring back and honor with an in-game ceremony (so the fans are in the seats)
in the near future (before some of them pass away - like Bobby Joe Mason, Ray Ramsey, and Joe Allen have)

-Chuck Orsborn (understanding his likely travel limitations)
    -Dick Versace
    -Squeaky ('bout time)
-and on a completely separate night, Paul Unruh
    -Hersey Hawkins
-Jim Les (I know this one will draw criticism)
    -Anderson, Thirdkill, & Reese
    -AP
    -Voise Winters
    -Joe B. McDade
    -Coach Mo
-Mort Cantor's widow & family (including son-in-law Frank Bussone)
    -Steve Kuberski
    -Massive Mike Williams!!!

Bring back coach Versace and his 32-3 team at one time. That would cover many on your list. Why would bringing back Jim Les draw criticism? He did nothing playing or coaching for Bradley to warrant that.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

It's a great idea to bring back more players and coaches to honor. An especially great idea is to bring back Dick Versace and his 32 and 3 team. I'd also love to see Dick Versace and his 82 NIT championship team back.

        Wonderful ideas on this thread!!!

I have talked to Dick a couple times in the last year. Most recently, was in Peoria 2 months ago, and suggested he would be open to returning to campus now that things have changed. He was treated rudely by the previous administration and vowed he "will never set foot on campus as long as ********* is still president".
But I am sure he'd like to come back now, and I believe that will happen.
This season is the 30 year anniversary of his 32-3 team in 1985-86.

Les would not draw criticism from rationale thinking fans. They know his success as a player, and I think everyone on both sides of the aisle agree, if nothing else, he gave 100% as a coach.

FANtastic idea Tornado! One way of boosting attendance (especially among the older, disenfranchised fans) would be to honor an all-time great (or great team) at every home game (or several) for the next few years. The cost to bring these guys back would certainly be offset by the goodwill created and (likely) increased attendance. This would be a wise and efficient use of Bradley's marketing dollars, in my opinion.

What's the latest on Massive Mike? Anyone know?
