Bradley Basketball set the bar high, so to speak, with the first addition to its 2015-16 recruiting class. First-year Braves head coach Brian Wardle announced Wednesday that 6-foot-10 center Koch Bar (Abyei, South Sudan/Arlington Country Day School, FL) has returned his signed National Letter of Intent to attend Bradley University and play basketball for the Braves during the 2016-17 season.
The Australian men have made their mark on the opening day of the 2015/16 NCAA Division I season, with a host of standout performances, including the impressive debut of Ben Simmons.
Indiana press on BU/Ball State - they think it's a football game
PEORIA, Ill. — Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye scored 18 points with three assists and grabbed eight rebounds as Bradley edged Ball State 54-53 in a men’s basketball season opener on Friday night.
I have heard this comparison from a couple basketball experts, including one who is in Bradley's HOF and another in the IHSA HOF. Let's hope so.
There is another BU recruit, class of 2017, who is similar, and who would be a great kid for Bradley to land, too...A.J. Youngman.
What kind of a chance (and why) do we have to earn A J Youngman's signature on a NLI? Does he fill a position of the most need on our scholarship grid?
well - nobody knows - probably not even AJ and his family at this time..
but if Bradley is his best or one of his highest offers....then we have a chance....
especially if Bradley continues to get better and looks like a winning program by this time next year.
Also, both he & his dad have been to a couple games so far at the Civic Center this year and were at many last year- they do appear to like Bradley and why wouldn't he want to play here in Central IL where he & his family live.
If he starts getting Michigan State or Villanova offers then I expect we'll have stiff competition - but if his offers are like Nate Kennel's - or just mid-majors - then I think BU is in the hunt.
