would love to see an even bigger crowd this Monday....then bigger yet for Ball State...
not sure why some people skip the exhibitions - they're fun and fans need to get to know all the new players...

btw St. Joe's is hanging right with Butler and are 4-5 from 3-pt range
Score is 18-14 with 7 minutes gone

Butler has grabbed 10 of the 12 rebounds so far

Butler ran away with the game 106-66
but one thing of note - they shot a ton of 3's - more than they shot 2-pt attempts, and made nearly half of them (13-27)

Here's the BUBraves.com pregame release...a very good job by BP
The "expected starters" are not named - so I guess we really still don't know...

The Bradley men's basketball team will play its second, and final, exhibition game Monday when the Braves host NCAA Division II Saint Joseph's (IN) College in a 7 p.m. tip at Carver Arena.

Dave Reynolds reports that Donte Thomas will be in the starting lineup Monday against St. Joseph's.
He will replace Ronnie Suggs, who played very well in the Edgewood game.

So the starting lineup for Monday's game against St. Joseph's is:
                Joel Okafor
                Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye
                Donte Thomas
                Luuk van Bree
                Callum Barker

                The bench:
                Ronnie Suggs
                Ka'Darryl Bell
                Antoine Pittman
                Scottie James
                Davante Cooper
                Peter Hanley
                D'Angelo McBride

Despite a few DI teams getting beat by exhibition opponents, none of the MVC teams has yet lost an exhibition game this fall.

Davante Cooper was 4-4 & did not miss a shot attempt in the first exhibition...
wonder if there's ever been a freshman at Bradley who started his very first game/exhibition as a freshman and
then made 4 or more baskets but did not miss a shot...
we'll see if his accuracy streak continues tonight...

Has any player gotten a double-double in his first contest/exhibition as a freshman? (Callum Barker 15 pt/10 reb)

Even the year (2007) TCS got 36 in front of an exhibition crowd of 4,150 at the Fieldhouse- he didn't have a double-double and he wasn't a freshman.

This is a much better opponent than the first exhibition. Van Bree, barker, and Okafor look good. These refs seem to breath through their whistles. There are SO MANY FOULS!!!
                          Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

                              Meh.

Not sure what KDB gives this team. All the rest at least have an upside.

They play well as a team - we faced some adversity - the SJC team threw some unexpected offense at us, and got all our big guys in foul trouble..
and we were forced to move guys to different positions - with Donte Thomas, Scottie and Luuk playing the "5"..
and we still hung in there and played well.
Callum Barker had 13 points in about 10 minutes of play - as he sat with fouls..

van Bree 18 pts, 10 rebs
                                Cooper 2 pts, 8 rebs
Donte Thomas 12 pts, 4 rebs
                                Okafor 8 pts, 3 asst
                                DLO 8 pts, 4 reb
                                Bell 4
                                Pittman 6
                                Suggs 8 pts, 3 rebs
                                James 5 pts

                                Absolutely pleased....
I realize we had them by about 30 points before we put our walk-ons in

somewhere in the middle of the game the stat crew went wild and started posting the score wrong - it caused a lot of really erroneous numbers to get tweeted out..
they looked a bit lost over there - musta been their nite to have amateur hour...
