  • Max Bielfeldt impresses in Indiana scrimmage

Max Bielfeldt was impressive in the Indiana intrasquad scrimmage today (this was Indiana's second open scrimmage)-

That article is a premium article, but here are a few clips-

Indiana freshman O.G. Anunoby continues to shine in preseason scrimmages.
The 6-foot-8 forward from Jefferson City, Mo., and graduate transfer Max Bielfeldt were two of the new players who had notable performances in IU's Haunted Hall of Hoops scrimmage Saturday afternoon.

Bielfeldt, the 6-foot-8, 240-pound transfer from Michigan, had nine points and nine rebounds in Saturday's scrimmage while playing on the team opposite 6-foot-10 freshman center Thomas Bryant.

Bielfeldt had some good moments on the boards, hitting jump shots, moving the ball in an offensive flow and at times scoring inside.

"Max has really expanded his game from the time he's gotten here," Buckley said. "He's handled the ball more maybe than he had before. I think he's now understanding when to shoot it, when to kick it, how to set up other guys.

"I think he's a really good passer out of the post, and I think he's got really good poise in the post. I don't think he gets sped up. Where I think he gets in trouble sometimes is when he leaves his feet and doesn't know whether to shoot it or pass it."

Former ISU player Nick Zeisloft had 9 points.

Max is averaging 8.3 ppg and 3.8 rpg so far this season for Indiana. Thos numbers are higher than his averages in 3 seasons at Michigan.

He took a three with about 2min to go that missed badly. Indiana completely collapsed in the final couple minutes. Not sure but it was something like a 19-5 Wake run to end it. Side note from this game was Espn has laid a lot of people off over the last couple months and somehow they forgot to ax Bill Walton. He was doing the color commentary while wearing sunglasses.

yeah- I do have to admit that it gets pretty tiring watching all his little video features - which are supposed to be about the teams or players in the upcoming games & broadcasts-

...but somehow ALL TURN OUT TO BE all about Bill Walton and what an incredible guy he is..

(but I did get a real kick out of the one where he lauded Chris Mullin for being in such great shape and still being able to do FIVE pushups at age 52!
That must have seemed amazing to Walton, however, at 63, who couldn't do one and looked amazingly aged & decrepit - hardly surprising since he reveals he's had more than 40 orthopedic operations & joint replacements on his spine, both hips, both knees and both ankles.)

hey - the UNLV/Chaminade game is a really good game but Bill Walton trying to ruin it talking about the 14 times he has broken his nose

btw- Chaminade up 12-5 over UNLV

one more thing...Bill then speculated that Chaminade player KUANY KUANY is the only college basketball player with the first name as last name!
Interesting since Kuany's dad also played college basketball and was also named Kuany Kuany (Wisconsin)
Hmmmm... guess he doesn't know about Shayok Shayok or Cal's Bak Bak
Then there's this kid coming up
Sure Bol Bol can destroy shots and dunk on opponents, BUT HE ALSO DOES ALL THIS OTHER STUFF AND IT DOESN'T SEEM FAIR.
