  • Saturday scrimmage

Coach Wardle is dressed as a blind guy in a referee costume.

Scrimmage is about to start. Lots of fans still arriving. Ronnie Suggs may be limited a bit by what is believed to be a minor knee injury.

Though the first quarter, Scottie James is the best offensive player on the floor. And it's not even close. Just threw down what might be the best dunk in traffic I've seen from a BU player in years. Okafor making lots of hustle plays, really like him.

Our shooting is not very good. But there is a lot of hustle and effort on defense.

          Callum Barker also looks good.

The Okafor/DLO matchup has been interesting as they have been all over each other.
Also Van Bree has shown he can handle the ball and shoot.

From Dave Reynolds....the Black team beat the White team 33-24. DLO and Scottie James each had 8 points.

Here's the PJS coverage of Saturday's Red-White scrimmage (actually is was Black-White)

I won't bother posting my opinion, the title basically tells it all....pretty scathing..

Unofficial scoring totals....20 minute scrimmage using walk-ons - final score 33-24
Remember - turnovers and low shooting percentage could just as likely be due to GOOD defense as to BAD offense
                Scottie James 8 pts
                DLO 8 pts
                Ronnie Suggs 7 pts
                Joel Okafor 6 assists
Callum Barker 7 rebounds, 2 blocks
Alex Foster 8 pts, 5 rebounds

Highlights from Bradley Men's Basketball open scrimmage.

A little bit longer video with decent quality, ends with Scotties big dunk.

Thanks for finding and posting that! You can see a little of the effort and defensive energy.

That play by Okafor was impressive!

It is nice having that video, the only problem is that, with every single player on the court being new, it is hard to figure out who is who before the play is over haha. I have watched it 5 times already in an attempt to identify each player and I think I have but those black uniforms are almost impossible to pick out the numbers and it makes it hard. I'm probably gonna watch another 5 times just to absorb it all adequately.

Okafor made two separate plays similar to that early one in the video where he dived out of bounds yet saved a ball inbounds to a teammate.
It's the kind of play a college players never make even once in four years of college and yet we have Joel doing it two or three times in an exhibition!!!

This is what I believe the plays are, in order. Feel free to add corrections.

1 -- Hanley drives but gets blocked by Barker.
2 -- Okafor deflects a pass from Suggs and dives to keep it from going out of bounds, tipping it to van Bree (I think) to secure the steal.
3 -- Cooper blocks a layup attempt from McBride (I think).
4 -- van Bree drills a wing three on an assist from Okafor.
                            5 -- James (I think) assists Suggs for a toe-on-the-line two.
6 -- Corner three. I really have trouble with these black unis but I think it is McBride to James.
7 -- Transition dunk for Pittman.
8 -- Breakaway dunk for a player I can not identify because the clip is too short. I think Suggs, but I could be way off there.
9 -- Steal and MONSTER dunk for James.

If anyone who was there can help correcting any I have wrong it would be appreciated.

and here are my observations of the plays on the video...I think you got almost everything right

1- yes, that's Callum Barker stuffing a layup attempt by Peter Hanley
2- Suggs' pass is deflected by Okafor who then dives over the sideline to tip it back in to Hanley
3- Yup - I think you got this one right
4- Okafor to van Bree for a 3-pointer
5- I agree & am pretty sure that's Scottie James to Suggs on the left wing for a long 2-pointer
6- Nope - pretty sure this one is Alex Foster (notice he dribbles and passes laft handed) to Callum Barker in the deep left corner for a 3-pointer, happened kinda right in front of me
7- Yup, Pittman for a breakaway dunk
8- not Suggs cuz Suggs is left handed and this player appears righty - so I am pretty sure this is DLO
9- this is Scottie James for sure with van Bree getting posterized
