Do know that he & DR showed up 45 minutes to an hour late for the MVC Media event Tuesday- something that I guarantee wouldn't have happened when Geno was coach.
Any time he's at an Illini game or a Cubs game he tweets 100 times about what's going on and columns about BU, Geno, and Mike Cross were commonplace 'til Wardle was hired, then he's gone silent and nothing whatsoever on BU... hasn't tweeted or written about Bradley in weeks - and didn't see anything about the practice, did you? He's lost interest? So be it. But it was a nice event for fans and drew twice what a similar event drew for Geno...which btw-Kirk was at and reported ..
Again - just calling it as I see it. All this talk that we're obsessed with what they write...I guess depends on how you view "obsessed"..
I recommend you try something - use the search feature to find out how many times in the past year he's even been mentioned in one of our threads.
You'll find the answer is about 50 times this year - and just for comparison, that's fewer times than Molinari's name or Versace's name or even Gregg Marshall's name has been brought up in a thread...so I suppose we're all obsessed about them, too?
Nope, obsessed is if we had 700 page threads about every word he writes ()
Kirk was into Bradley basketball in certain former seasons - even meeting the coach for lunch to write articles hyping him up...
The Hoops section is generally out by the first couple weeks in November - so we'll soon get some coverage.
Anyway - I kinda knew it would always spark up conversation if we mentioned Kirk.
Oh, and btw- I have posted more narrative & description on what actually happened at the practice, and at a dozen other Bradley things this fall than anyone else has, you see - the only obsession I have IS Bradley basketball -
nobody's forced to read any of it and if you think anything I said is wrong, then that's what's great about message boards - that you are free to ignore or say what you want or correct it. But heck, if it weren't for the reports here on BradleyFans - I swear, there's be fans who don't even know the season's starting or that we have a new coach given the paucity of coverage...
if you wanna talk strange obsession find the 700-page threads or go read how many times Kirk & Dave pumped up Geno despite how horribly bad we were - I am not the only one that saw it that way...
I think this forum is great!! I am not obsessed with Bradley MBB, but I do have an keen interest in what is happening. I know more about Bradley MBB now than I ever have before. I thank this forum for this. I do not have to pay some significant price to get a paper by mail, in order to read one small paragraph about a game or other noteworthy information. Without this forum, I would be in the dark. Anything I learned would be by pure chance of catching it on Chicago area radio and TV. This forum is here for me whenever I get online. It is all there, pictures, links, information about NCCA rules, eye-witness reports and very knowledgeable people. I for one loved to get to know some of you, here on the forum, before I ever went to Itoo Hall for the first time in my life last month. I met new friends. I have access tickets. I met people who welcomed me and filled me in. Why? ...because all of us share a strong interest in Bradley MBB. Its like a brotherhood to me!
Because of this forum, I plan to attend more game than before.
So, in my view, not being a local person, the forum is very valuable to me.

you are 100% right Mac- and I apologize for my part in this..
the last four years of terrible mismanagement of all aspects of BU sports has created bitter streaks and divisiveness among fans...
and I want to get back onto a 100% positive path... and I will do my best
Most of what's posted here is factual and fair discussion but the back & forth does continue - let's hope winning "cures all"

A little late on my report about the open practice. One thing that impressed me was how hard Coach W and his entire staff worked the guys and yet they all seemed to give 100% right to the end of practice. They were running a drill w/ just under 2 minutes to go in practice when Coop and DT crashed heads and both went down. Coach ended practice at that point.
I seen more banging of bodies in 2 hours then I seen last season in what 16-17 games. As T and I were talking as he was leaving, we will see times that will excite us and other times we will be frustrated. These guys all seem to have some talent. I seen DT throw down a rebound w/ authority and also seen guys grab rebounds and have the ball knocked out of their hands. Kind of looked familier to what we seen in the past but the coaches really let them have it at that point.
Can they shoot the ball? Good question. I seen guys shoot the 3 w/ authority when just practicing but clank shots in 5 on 5 drills.
One thing I found interesting was how he had the squads split up. the black team consisted of 1 soph and 5 freshmen. KB was on the red team which was the rest of the players. To early to tell but almost looked like we might start at least 4 freshmen and possibly 5.
Coach W is no nonsense and had guys doing pushups and running line sprints when mistakes were made. Also pulled guys when they made mistakes.
I really feel that this team might surprise some people before the end of the season so lets be patient
