I will truly never understand why people's votes for pre season team rankings gets people up in arms. When Muller did it last year I think he was showing his team he believed and was also having a little fun with it. It is pretty clear who the favorite is going into the last two years. Some might consider it disrespectful to the clear favorites and that's fine but people need to relax.

I could be wrong, but I think some people get upset because it makes a potential mockery of the league and sets a bad precedent. Imagine if everyone who voted decided to "have a little fun" by voting for a personal favorite or their home team. I think it can be construed as reflecting poorly on the league in general.

If there are 43 voters then some of the 10 MVC teams get a disproportionate number of "extra voters" - why is that?

My guess is 4 per school and the 3 extras are MVC staff.

it might be MVC staff but they have never voted before and nothing I have ever seen mentioned that

Why even have such a vote? Most fans know who the favorites are. Everybody takes everything so seriously.
