  • Predictions anyone?

Let's get some predictions going even if painful...

Here's our non-conference schedule and here's who I think we can compete against...

Nov. 4 — Exhibition game vs. Edgewood College - I think we win this one
Nov. 9 — Exhibition game vs. St. Joseph's College I think we can win this one, too
Nov. 13 — BALL STATE - we can hang with these guys, but I think our inexperience and lack of depth mean we take a loss
Nov. 16 — at Arizona - first road game and our guys play admirably but we lose this one - however it's a resume-building loss
Nov. 19-22 — at Gildan Charleston Classic
Thurs., Nov. 19 vs. Virginia we learn from this one but we won't stay with Virginia
Fri., Nov. 20 vs. Long Beach or Seton Hall - either way, I think we can hang close
Sun., Nov. 22 George Mason, OK State, Ole Miss, or Towson..I suspect we'll get Towson in this game & I think we can beat them
Nov. 25 — NEW ORLEANS (home) - I believe we pick up a home win
Nov. 28 — MISSISSIPPI (home) - our inexperience will show & we drop to 2-5
Dec. 1 — at Delaware - tough to win on the road but we can hang close and pick up some valuable experience
Dec. 5 — NORTH DAKOTA (home) I think we start 3-game win streak
    Dec. 8 — at Texas-Arlington - W
Dec. 17 — MARYVILLE (home) oughta win now go to 5-6
Dec. 20 — at Boise State - winning streak ends
Dec. 23 — TCU (home) - I think we play inspired and get a nice win against a decent team (I know - don't make fun if we don't win these games- at least I am willing to stick my neck out & let our guys know I believe we can win)
But we hung close to TCU last year and they were touted as pretty good even tho 3 of our starters had absolutely horrible games.

MVC season - I think we go 4-14 maybe better but as a team full of freshman who tend to "hit the wall" 1/2 to 2/3 way thru the long grind - I think we do tucker out in Late Jan. & Feb. This is when we see who the guys are that earn starting spots & playing time when we get to St. Louis.

    Prediction

    TRUMP!

But would settle for Cruz, Fiorina, Jindal, or Rubio.

My preference is for governors or major corp leaders who have actually
done strategic planning, managed a budget, and managed a large organization.

    Absolutely anyone but Hillary....

What? Oh? You mean a prediction for the 2015-16 BU MBB Team's season?

    Nevermind....

So it looks like you are predicting they will have a better record than last year. I would say that would define success for me.

well- just winning our exhibitions will put us ahead of last year - then I am pegging us for 9-10 wins - but that includes the "sticking-my-neck-out pick that we beat TCU.
I will be interested to see how Dave Reynolds picks each game - he was pretty optimistic last couple years...

Sun., Nov. 22 George Mason, OK State, Ole Miss, or Towson..W - We avoid getting shut out in "The Holy City"

Dec. 23 ??” TCU (home) - L- we suffer our first home loss under Wardle

MVC season - I suspect we'll win 3-4 games, exceed expectations, and stay out of the MVC cellar

I say we're likely 6-7 heading into MVC season and finish overall with an overall record of around 9-21. I can dream can't I?

My predictions, which I have already posted somewhere in a previous thread, are that we will equal or exceed the number of wins compared with last year, when there were some people picking Bradley in the upper half of the MVC.
We ended up in 10th place, with 9 wins overall and 3 MVC wins.

Seems just about everyone is reluctant to give specific predictions about our next two games...

I applaud DR since he's gone ahead and stuck his neck out...he predicts
                Arizona 65 - Bradley 48

I will also stick my neck out.....
I think we hang close and our scrappy defense makes the game pretty sloppy for a while........
and the real unknown variable is how are the refs gonna call it...

Our guys are used to refs calling everything a foul..
AND in Arizona's first game - a 79-61 home win over Pacific - there were also a LOT of fouls with Arizona shooting 32 FT attempts (their starting frontcourt alone was 14-19 - as many FTs as Pacific got as a team!)

BUT Arizona's guards & their defense did NOT force many turnovers - which will be good for us..
so I say if the refs call a bunch - then we fall behind by double digits before the half and never recover..
If they don't then we can hang with them and still have hope in the 2nd half - especially if we hold the score in the 50-60's.
I won't predict a score but I hope our guys read the column on Billy wright & WIU beating TOP 20 ranked Wisconsin.

yup - we cannot beat a strong team like this is every contact that's been going on for years suddenly is a foul -
