Simeon: Evan Gilyard, Kezo Brown, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kejuan Clements, Marquis Brown, Messiah Jones, and a few others from Class of 2019, 2020 that are already getting attention.
Great to see our staff already watching and evaluating kids who are still just sophomores & freshmen - working 3-4 years ahead....instead of settling for late pick jucosLast edited by tornado; 09-21-2016, 10:27 AM.

More talent that our coaches are checking out...
"UW Milwaukee, Bradley and Belmont were in today to watch 2018 6'6 Wing Aaron Henry ...(Ben Davis/Team Harris)"
Aaron Henry - Iowa and Michigan State have also been in recently to watch him..
“Overall it was pretty solid,” Henry said. “But I didn’t go as well as I planned. I didn’t shoot the ball too well and I need to do a better job boxing out and getting stronger and more physical.
Marcus Santos-Silva chooses VCU - so that's two top targets we've lost to them in the past yearLast edited by tornado; 09-21-2016, 08:12 PM.

as I noted elsewhere, because Michael Tucker was REPORTED to have committed to Hutchinson Junior College in January 2014 then enrolled at Georgia Perimeter junior college back in 2014, it is possible he may have a Chris-Blake-like or Taylor-Brown-like loss of NCAA eligibility - and if so it might hurt his recruiting...
I guess time will tell.

no, despite his performance, Tramique was somewhat overlooked, and was not 1st Team, 2nd Team, nor 3rd Team
All American...but did receive Honorable Mention NJCAA All American status.
Cellus was 1st Team NJCAA All American

Michael Tucker isn't actually a real All American yet either. This was just the preseason All American list compiled by The Sporting News, a publication that doesn't even follow or report much on Juco basketball.
But if he does end up in the MVC, SIU might have a bit of an advantage. John A. Logan CC is located just 7 miles from SIU, and the head basketball coach there is Kyle Smithpeters, who is also the older brother of SIU junior Tyler Smithpeters.
John A. Logan CC will also have another former Bradley recruit on their roster this season. Raymond Doby, a 6'6" forward, was a 2014 recruit of Geno Ford from Christian Brothers HS in St. Louis. He then went to Montrose Christian HS in Maryland for his senior year, supposedly to get more exposure. Then he committed to DePaul. However, he fell short academically, and went to St. John's Northwest Military Academy in Wisconsin to improve his grades and became a 2015 recruit. He eventually recommitted to Oliver Purnell and DePaul, but when Purnell was fired, he reopened his commitment. He then committed to South Carolina, and spent the 2015-16 there. He played very little there his freshman year, so he decided to leave, and is now enrolled at John A. Logan and will be a 2017 juco recruit. -
John A. Logan will be very good this year. They are ranked 12th nationally in a preseason ranking, also by The Sporting News.

As noted on the Recruiting board, one of Bradley's top 2017 recruits, Elkgin Larkin's Christian Negron suffered a torn ACL and will likely miss his senior season. Just recently, Christian had announced he trimmed his list to 5 schools, one of which was Bradley.

There is an interesting debate emerging....
one of the arguments to allow MORE summer & offseason workouts and earlier STARTS to practices in various sports like what we've seen in college basketball...
is that the extra conditioning should REDUCE these injuries...and also one of the arguments to allow more AAU tourneys - is that it will KEEP them more fit & in better shape and reduce serious ACL injury...
Sadly serious ACL injuries are sharply on the rise and now after years of encouraging athletes to do MORE year-round conditioning, it might just be that the year-round conditioning "fix" that's being pushed is actually responsible for much of the 300-400% rise in serious injuries.
"Experts" are pretty divided on this...
Derrick Rose's injury marked flood of new knee injuries, attributed to a more athletic game that adds more stress to finely tuned athletes.
