  • Article on Gregg Marshall's contract

$3 mil per year bumping up to $3.5 mil per year in 2018 thru 2021...
(plus several hundred thousands in potential bonuses & more perks- and the contract also allows $150-$200K per year/each that he can spend on assistant coach salaries)

That's amazing. Nobody in the MVC is ever going to compete for coaches salaries on that level.

Every coach has down years and dry spells - remember when SIU threw a big contract to lock in Chris Lowery?
Then Creighton threw a million at Dana Altman only to have him leave..
and likewise in 2006-07 when WSU threw a big bundle at Mark Turgeon but he left, too..
I kinda think we'll see an interesting year in 2016-17 when Gregg Marshall will have to coach a team without two All-Americans on it...
it'll define whether their $3.5 mil is well spent...He has never won an NCAA game at Wichita until he had FVV and Baker

Hard to knock a coach who has had his success. At least WSU and the other schools reward their coaches for being successful. BU fires a coach who had a lowly 32-3 record. Congrats to coach Marshall.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
