  • High tech future of college basketball?

At Pennsylvania University - every basketball player is tracked with a GPS device.
It's mainly to keep track of the miles they run and their activity - not so much to snoop on where they go but I wonder about the backlash...
I suspect this would hurt recruiting as some kids would think it's a little too much loss of privacy.
They were just unpacking the GPS devices from the boxes in Penn's basketball offices. For their cars? No, for practice. Every Quakers men's hoops player is going to get a tracking device for the back of his jersey. It weighs about an ounce.

I have an idea rossing my mind earliwer today

Watching the NFL we see quarterbacks with computer linkups with each of their coach helping to set up the coming play on offense Could something like this work in basketball with one player each time having something similar? Interesting to see where this technology would go, I think!
