Obsess? There might be one thread every few weeks discussing this topic in a completely civil manner, and IMO the opinions are completely justified. Can you cite other threads that you claim show this so-called obsession?

If you want to see obsession, check the obsession thread- 600+ pages of posts by peripheral fans and non-fans (not counting the 500 pages from the previous obsession thread that was deleted), almost none of whom ever donate a dime to Bradley and many who don't even buy tickets or go to games, running continuously for many years with vicious personal attacks and threats directed at this board and at the dedicated Bradley fans who loyally have supported and donated to Bradley basketball for decades. That is obsession to the Nth degree. I don't seem to recall you ever "calling out" those obsessed people.

yeah....it's relegated to one thread where every time PJS comes up here it's discussed about hoopla about Geno...when Geno was here it was how JL get a raw deal from them....it's always about comparing the past


I have never heard anyone talk about the coverage like this board does. I guess I don't know what the purpose is?

I think maybe this is true, but he has tweeted about being at Bradley practices and watching the new players. Wouldn't you think the readers might like to know more specific information about the new players? Maybe he has been told not to report about that or maybe they are saving it for their Hoops section if they do that again.

Well, sorry it upsets you. There are a lot of fans who have been upset about how the program was hi-jacked by the last regime and driven into the ground while a handful of sycophants cheered. Unfortunately it cost Bradley millions in lost donations and ticket sales, not to mention millions more to buy out all those who created the mess.

In the end, everything here is just information and fans' opinions. No reason for that to upset anyone. Most of it does not have a real deep purpose.

Hey - I find it hard enough to do my own job without trying to do anyone else's so I will let the newspaper guys do what they want but I
will still offer opinions from time to time....

But he's covered basketball for 30 years and has always given broad-ranging opinions/assessments/thoughts on players he's just seen early in the season and even on players he hasn't seen play a single game.
I have never before heard him decline because it's too early to tell and yet that's exactly the same thing KW said as if they had agreed to give that same answer.


By his own reckoning he's sat right there and observed at least two whole practices and yet when asked to give an assessment on the new players he goes speechless.
All I am saying is that a guy who writes his observations & assessments for a living and has been doing it voluminously for 30 years - suddenly has such a stark metamorphosis - is an item worth noting.

but for 4 yrs did they just that, constantly praise the upgrades, heap accolades on them and even predict we'd finish in the upper half of the MVC and label the only true DI players Geno had as an "empty cupboard"

I think differences make for good message board discussions but people shouldn't have such thin skin that they can't handle it
if they encounter an opinion that differs, or if they encounter a viewpoint that differs from their favorite journalist.
