  • Open Practice announced

October 3 - but there appears to be a hitch for the fans....it is aimed at local high school coaches...
Hopefully they'll let fans attend or have another one for the fans...

...can BP help explain - otherwise I know there's going to be questions from fans

More on Bradley's open practice that is intended for coaches only
PEORIA, IL - Bradley Basketball head coach Brian Wardle and his staff invite high school coaches to visit for a team practice Oct. 3 at the Basketball Performance Center in Renaissance Coliseum.

let's hope we have more for season ticket holders & Braves Club members

I have heard good things about the efforts this staff is making to re-build bridges and connect with high school programs throughout the state and in the nearby states....
Of course this effort with an open practice allowing high school coaches to do something a lot of them have always wanted to do - see the workings of a college program--
but also the time our guys spent volunteering at the IBCA Coaches Clinic....then phone calls, visits to gyms, etc....
Amazing all of what our current staff has accomplished in just six months on the job....stuff the former staff avoided doing for four years...
(forcing us to have to kiss up to AAU middlemen to get players.)

Yes, I keep hearing reports of our coaches appearing at high school gyms all over Central Illinois, including schools where there is not any D1 prospects. They have spread a lot of good will, and are admired greatly by all of the area coaches and nearly all of the local media....

A report from Coach Wardle's open practice for high school coaches...
          per WEEK's Jim Mattson...

"I LOVE Brian Wardle's high school coaches day today at Bradley basketball practice...
Wardle has impressed every prep coach I've talked to"

Did the last staff really not do any of this? Doesn't seem like rocket science.

It does seem like an obvious way to make friends and influence people. But that did not seem to be a priority of the previous AD and coach.

the intent is to be on a first name basis with every coach in the area and it applies to all sports and is the AD's policy..

Did any past staff ever do any of this? Doubt it.
