BU's RPI still strong at 44, SOS still amazing at 11. Win these next 2 and the ship is righted. Heck even a split keeps us a float for top 6 IMO. But, we've got some things we've got to fix and some players we need to get righted. Again, this one is much easier to swallow than Tuesday IMO. We were clearly not the better team on this night, and there's little that could have been done to change that. Tuesday there was. Let's fix it and steal one Saturday, and get healthy at home on Wednesday.

Well, Drake is not quite in the same level as Wichita St, so hopefully if we get back down to basics in our defensive play, we can beat them without getting into a shootout, so to speak. This will be critical to our chances of earning an at-large NCAA bid, which contrary to popular opinion, are not dead yet.

        Go Braves!

Sounds like a plan to me!

what do you guys think? 20 total victories, which would include a deep run in the MVC tourny like last year? i get discouraged when i see that the Braves cannot win on the road

20 wins is a stretch with a home loss already, and crouch out for another month or so.

We just need to concentrate on fixing the problems right now.

Where do you start to fix????? Take a look at the guys we have and who the minutes are going to. What is going to change by alot. This team was going to have to play lights out to finish 5th in conf before JC went down.....more than likely it would have been 6-7.....Now , well who knows...but it is what it is. One game at a time.

Yeah, we shoulda won that game.
We need to clean house and start over.
                    This team is goin nowhere.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

Rebounding is killing this team; ruffin and franklin are playing well but our bigs need to play like 6-7 and 6-8 players should and get those missed shots.

Sorry BIF. I wouldnt change a thing. DA Coach said JL needs to fix the problems now.....I replied, where do you start?

I never expected to win tis game.....but I thought it might be competitive. I never said clean house, I said it is what it is, and one game at a time. Sounds like you have written them off...

You could tell when the Bradley team walked off the court on Tuesday night that they had no chance on Thursday night.

I don't understand why some people seem so surprised that this team has deficiencies. They lost 4 seniors from last year's team, that's hard enough to replace. Then they lost their top returning player too late (in May) to replace him with another recruit (so the scholarship went to a 5th year, walkon). They lost their only true center, and the returning defensive Player of the Year, and probably an All American.
And despite all that, they were playing great and had an RPI in the 20's with the leftovers. Then their leading scorer went down with a bad injury. Not too many teams that could recover from all this. I am amazed that Jim Les hasn't used excuses, and that the team has continued to play so hard. But they will continue to struggle against good rebounding teams, and they will not be as competetive as they were with Crouch in the lineup. Despite the rancor here, this team still has a lot of fans and supporters behind it. I remember last January they were struggling a little and people wanted to fire the coach then. At least I don't see such silliness among the posters now.

I think in an effort to help out more on rebounding and defending in the paint, we are leaving
                              the outside shooters more room.
Then last night, K. Bradley exposed BU in this regard.

BU ended up doing a GREAT job of shutting down Kyle Wilson, Phillip Thomasson, and Ryan Bradley (who combine for 31 points a game)
and we held them to only 10 points combined, 21 points below their combined average.
I wonder if we''l hear from those who said we can't defend the paint?

We really miss JC and of course the inside presence we'd have had with POB.

For those who said Jassey would give us a big boost, I still am not sure.
I think he's a year away from being an effective part of the offense.

Face it, sometimes team are going to shoot the lights out. We've had those nights, and last night the Shockers had one, going 11-19 from the arc, and 18-28 inside the arc.

Pretty much agree with everything here. That's why I am not overly discouraged with last night's game, and why I am confident we can give them all they can handle when they come to Peoria in 2 weeks.
