I think our 4-guard setup is still allowing us to pressure the ball... The difference lately is the inability to get the rebounds on the bad shots the pressure D creates. We're not even pulling down a lot of boards with Salley and Zach on the floor...
Anyway, I'm getting worried about next year, because we won't be much deeper in the bigs as our recruiting currently stands. I'm not excited about some of the prospects that could create an open scholarship, but if something like that does happen, we need a big... bad.
This is about what I expected. We were overmatched at virtually every position. I am a little disappointed that we gave up nearly 90 points for the 2nd consecutive game, and also disappointed at our reluctance to run the offense that made us so successful early on this year. We fought and fought, we just were clearly overmatched tonight. It's a lot easier to swallow this one than when we miss 3 elementary breakaways and shoot ourselves in the foot like Tuesday.
Now onto Drake, where they are due for a breakout game just like WSU was. Just our luck. I'm seeing another double-digit loss Saturday night, as the downward spiral to Thursday night continues. Let's hope this prognosticator is wrong.
Probably our worst game of the year thus far. We really didn't do anything well tonight. It will be very interesting to see how BU reacts to this on Sat. at Drake. The guys need to suck it up and give a great effort.

Smaller teams can have successful seasons like St. Joe's did a few years ago, but that team played very good defense and shot the ball very well on a consistent basis. We aren't there yet, but all is not lost. I hope this game was the worst one we'd see in the MVC this year, but with trips to Omaha and Carbondale still to go, plus the Indiana swing, I don't know. If they don't play better against Drake, even if they lose, some big time soul searching will be needed to get things back on track or else we could be fighting the Redbirds to stay out of the cellar when all is said and done.
