If anyone ever needs proof that the WNBA would not survive if it wasn't for the $ millions poured into the failing WNBA by the NBA teams check this out.
The Charlotte Bobcats were fed up with pumping more and more money into the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA, so they simply decided (against the advice of the NBA front office) to stop giving the failing womens' team money.
Within three weeks, the Sting folds up and goes under.
Just 3 weeks, that's all, it only took 21 days of trying to make a go of it on their own, before they folded!
