  • Wichita State guilty of NCAA violation in recruiting Peyton Allen

Wichita State violated NCAA rules in their recruitment of Peyton Allen. The violation was self-reported to the NCAA, and it's likely there will be no further punishment by the NCAA-

Wichita State's latest commitment comes with minor NCAA violation

Those are self-imposed penalties. As the baseball program learned two years ago, the NCAA can add to that. And they did. WSU will graduate five players this year. And every program loses players to transfer these days. Every official visit is sacred. Losing one when you only get 12 isn't insignificant, especially when the NCAA could take more if they're in a bad mood that day.

I really don't think this was intentional on Marshall's part. Not to gain what amounts to maybe four extra hours of time.

EDIT: I missed the part about the NCAA verbally agreeing with the penalties. I still wouldn't want to lose an official visit in a year with a lot of scholarships to replace.

I agree Tornado. Marshall knew exactly what he was doing & then self-reported it as a............. "OMG I made a mistake move". Bullshit, total bullshit. The rich do whatever the hell they want. He knows the rules inside out.

I guess it's rewarding to bring this thread back up...
after all, Wichita actually broke rules to land & take in transfer Peyton Allen back in 2015

Anyway - after waiting a whole year they lose his services anyway...I hope Peyton Allen turns out OK but obviously this move did not help him at all.
