Koch Bar transfers high schools

Bradley commit Koch Bar transfers from West Oaks Academy in Orlando to Jacksonville Arlington Country Day School (ACD) -
but also his basketball coach and two other basketball players all transferred as well - including 7-3 Chol Marial.

this is noted to be a huge step up as ACD is a "nationally-known power" and "a national brand."

One other teammate of Koch Bar at West Oaks - just verballed to DI - but he's leaving West Oaks and headed to IMG,
..and one other of the ACD kids has also verbaled to the same DI

Seems prep school kids change schools a lot. Shayok, Crawford, Zecevic, Swopshire, Tucker, Jassey, Dodie, and many others all changed going into their senior seasons.
But this change actually keeps Bar with the same coach & adviser, so doubt we have much to worry about.

When Michael Tucker changed schools headed into his senior year, it prompted some instant panic & two of our coaches quickly flew down there and Dave Reynolds assured everyone that Tucker would still be coming to Bradley & that the transfer didn't mean anything - it was all for family reasons.

Dave Reynolds even vouching for Tucker and promising he was still solid for Bradley even when the evidence pointed to the opposite.

In the end it was a horrible decision for both Tucker & BU - as he lost his eligibility, then got injured, then lost his offer and BU had to scramble then to fill that scholarship - settling for the very un-productive Chris Blake.
Also - the reasons for the transfer were then revealed to be way more than "family issues"...

the junior college Tucker signed with last year, Georgia Perimeter College, no longer even exists. It merged with Georgia State University and all the Perimeter students automatically became GSU enrollees. http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local-e...o-merge/njm36/

since there's some stuff in the news about ineligible kids from prep schools, I checked the two involved in Koch Bar's transfer..

both are labelled by NCAA with this caution.....
"This program is under an extended evaluation period to determine if it meets the academic requirements for NCAA cleared status.
During this evaluation period, the courses listed below may be subject to further review on a case-by-case basis,
which will require additional academic documentation."

Fortunately, so far none of the kids from either school has had eligibility issues...

#1 overall prospect in the entire nation for Class of 2019
...but maybe there's still a chance we can land him!
