  • ISU adds 6-4 transfer guard from Knox College

Javaka Thompson - seems like a good kid - got an academic award last year...
2 years ago at Knox College (2013-14) he played in 16 games, hit 21.4% from the arc, and averaged 5.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 0.9 apg

Javaka Thompson (31) Guard - 2016-17/Redshirt Senior at Illinois State As a walk-on, played in 18 games to help ISU win a share of the MVC regular-season title

they now have 14 on their roster with EIGHT of them brand new, never played a minute for ISU before
(Banyard, Brewer, Evans, NDiaye, Hein, Harvey, Thompson, Griffin)
..that's almost as many new pieces as Bradley has!!!

    One more MVC tidbit....
Evansville's starting guard Duane Gibson (started 23 out of 36 games) - was injured & tore a meniscus cartilage in his knee and underwent
surgery to repair it - he is projected out until possibly at least October...
..as many recall - Donte Thomas tore a meniscus, and had surgery in January of 2014 - and really wasn't fully recovered and playing well until the following Nov. or Dec
Geno even threw him in and he started a couple games early on in Nov. & Dec. but clearly he wasn't ready - he was even held out vs. St. Louis because his knee ached, and over the first nine games went 5-27.
