you have drawn the wrong conclusion...he is not bad...would have loved to have him..
he is a good player who perhaps feels he is not getting enough shots - so just maybe he's forcing some - perhaps could do better in a different system/different coach?

He's good but that might be the one place in the MVC where playing time will be hard to come by for Allen

if true - then it begs an interesting question...
who currently on the Wichita State roster is gonna be gone?
They are now one over the scholarship limit and all four incoming freshmen have signed LOI's
Gregg Marshall has been in this very position before and solved it by sending one of his freshmen LOI signees off to prep school..or just telling them to pay their own way

What I'm hearing is that he's walking on this year. No links or proof yet though.

No, just looking at the stats you put up, like rare assists, low shooting percentage, etc..
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Peyton's stats his first year at Texas A&M are remarkably similar to Devan Bawinkel's stats his first year at Iowa - I think they are similar players -
Bawinkel might have done better at a midmajor, but sure didn't at Iowa.
(Then just for the heck of it, will throw in the 1st year Jake Eastman played for Geno and Ka'Darryl Bell's first year of getting decent playing time)
...I don't recall anyone claiming those were great stats back then but maybe things are different now..
I think Allen will be a good player but will he be a "difference maker"?

            Allen ----- 32 games, 42-129, 38.0%, 30-93 on 3-pt, 32.3%, 4.50ppg, 0.75rpg, 0.5apg
            Bawinkel- 32 games, 52-144, 36.1%, 51-139 on 3-pt, 36.7%, 4.84ppg, 1.6rpg, 0.6apg
            Eastman--32 games, 67-198, 33.8%, 23-99 on 3-pt, 23.2%, 5.94ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.9apg
            Bell-------32 games, 47-134, 35.1%, 16-45 on 3-pt, 35.6%, 4.75ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.1apg

Eastman and Bell may have been forced to play more minutes as freshman than they might have because of the coaching change and all the player turnover. Neither was very highly recruited, as Peyton Allen was, so perhaps those are not the best comparisons.

Here are a few more stats of Peyton Allen compared with a number of Bradley freshmen since 2000. Note again that Allen's stats were compiled in a tougher conference, and against superior opponents:
              Player....................mpg....ppg.....rpg.....a pg.....FG%.......3pt%
              Peyton Allen............14.1.....4.5.....0.8.....0.5..... 38.0%.....32.3%
              Josh Cunningham.....30.3.....7.9.....7.5.....0.5..... 43.4%.....23.4%
              Donte Thomas.........11.9.....2.5.....2.5.....0.6..... 33.0%..... 40.0%
              Jordan Swopshire.....4.4......1.3......0.5.....0.1..... 38.5%.... 40.0%
              Stefan Zecevic.........3.5......0.5.....0.6.....0.1...... 41.7%..... 0.0%
              Xavier Taylor..........14.8...,.3.4.....3.2......0.3..... 52.0%..... 0.0%
              Ka'Darryl Bell..........9.1......2.0.....0.9.....0.4...... 40.4%.....25.0%
              Jalen Crawford........12.3.....2.7.....1.1.....0.5...... 34.0%.....32.6%
              Shayok Shayok.......18.6......3.5.....3.1.....0.6...... 34.6%.....20.0%
              Jake Eastman.........11.4.......2.9.....1.5.....0.5.... . 32.2%....30.8%
              Walt Lemon............20.0......6.4.....2.4.....1.0.... ..41.9%.....32.4%
              D. Simms-Edwards..20.6......5.4.....2.4.....1.8.......36.2% ....30.8%
              Taylor Brown..........11.5......3.4.....3.0......0.6..... .44.3%....15.8%
              Sam Maniscalco......27.2.....7.7......1.7......3.0.... ..41.7%.....36.7%
              Andrew Warren.......13.5.....4.1......1.6......0.6..... 46.3%.....45.7%
              Jeremy Crouch.......26.6......8.3......2.3......1.7...... 39.7%....36.8%
              Daniel Ruffin (R).....34.1......6.3.....3.9......4.7.......37.4% ....27.0%

The lower 7 on the list all achieved All-MVC or post-season honors at least once, and Peyton Allen's stats are pretty good compared to those.
In fact, on a points per minute basis, Peyton Allen's offensive numbers at Texas A&M are better than any Bradley freshman scoring stats since 2000, including every one of the guys on that list who went on to become All-MVC.
When compared to his own teammates on a very good Texas A&M team, only 3 players, all starters, scored more points per minutes played than Allen did last season.

since we missed on Payton Allen - we might yet get another chance...

Peyton Allen's little brother Parker Allen is breaking some of Peyton's records..

Interesting ... WSU is showing interest in him. I'm sure Peyton has put a bug in Marshall's ear. Would also be interesting to see if he went to a different MVC school. Could see some brothers playing each other for a couple years.
