so you think AJ Youngman will go way higher than BU?

and.....there are some who think Nate isn't MVC-level guy!

but there were those who claimed Jeremy Crouch was a wasted scholarship and didn't have the talent or athleticism to play at the MVC-level....they were wrong...
Recruiting - especially at the midmajor level - is always a crapshoot - and every decent midmajor coach misses on some, but I think Nate will contribute

You hit the nail on the head. It's a crapshoot.

I didn't say "way higher", but yes, I think A.J. will end up with at least one BCS level offer.

As for Nate, at least 1 MVC assistant coach said that his program didn't think Nate was an MVC level player. For what it's worth, I had heard that WIU was gearing up to take a run at him because they thought their level would best suit his skillset.

At the end of the day, it sounds like Nate will be playing at Bradley, and here's hoping he ends up being a very good player.

Best part is Nate is a local area kid.

I've heard that comparison also and that would be a winner for BU. I've tried to contain my enthusiasm for what Coach has done so far, and so quick, but I'm starting to kind of get excited about what is going on at the Hilltop.
We might need to find some mighty deep pockets in the next couple of years if this guy stays in Peoria very long.

this has indeed been a great run for the last 3 months - with our very first 2015 commitment coming on April 18, and then 11 more verbals (including a walk-on) in the intervening 3 months...
that's 12 NEW PLAYERS - an average of one new breaking commitment story every week!!!!

but it's about to come to a little bit of a stall as we are kinda running out of scholarships to fill - so I don't expect too many more commitments between now and next spring - but I suspect at least another one or two 2016 scholarships could become available in the spring of 2016.

Worrying about losing Coach Wardle 4-5 years from now would be a great problem to have.

If Coach Wardle is able to lead BU back to Valley/national relevance,
there will be more than enough pockets in Peoria area to hang on to him!

Got to spend all those Cat stock option profits on something Doug!

The new offer to Horne is interesting. I'd really like to see a PG with the 3rd scholarship.

I expect Bradley Coach Wardle to sign at least 4 or 5 new players for 2016, and another point guard could very likely still be one of them.
And yes, I realize there are only 3 scholarships due to open.

You then have to wonder which 3 players (or more) won't be back the following year. With all of the talent in the class of 2017, I would guess that Wardle would want to bring in at least 3 players in that class as well.

It does bring up an interesting question ... at least to me.

Will Wardle actively recruit over current recruits. By this, I mean accepting commits from more than the available scholarships. I realize this has not been the practice in the past, but we are operating under a different group now.

The only reason I raise this question is that it seems to be a recruiting philosophy for many schools now.

Mods, if this is not appropriate, please delete this post.

well, he obviously hasn't yet and I suspect he won't sign anyone unless a scholarship is available -

BTW - a little stat keeping:

Commitments from high schoolers who will have four years of eligibility:
Brian Wardle in less than 3 months: TEN (Suggs, Pittman, Okafor, Lautier-Ogunleye, Cooper, James, van Bree, Barker, Bar, Kennell)
Geno Ford in four years: NINE (Crawford, Shayok, Hodges, Bell, Swopshire, Taylor, Zecevic, Cunningham, Thomas - although most didn't stay long)
