uh oh....the dream world at the upper crust of Division I seems to already have a few issues...
now the Notre Dame and the Vanderbilt AD's are raising the possibility of a further split among the teams of the "power conferences"..
The "HAVES" vs. the "HAVE NOTS" - some schools want to pay big time to get the best players....
Some schools would start paying upwards of $20,000+/yr to land the top recruits while other top schools simply wouldn't have the money to keep up...
"...schools such as Notre Dame, Stanford and Northwestern would break off into a separate association while football powers like Alabama, Texas and Florida would form a semi-pro type league.
The measure would allow schools to group more in cultural commonalities and allow others to pay players beyond the recently established cost-of-attendance stipend."
so just as some predicted - the greed would take over and the schools with the most money would start upping the ante and "buying" the best recruits...
it's only a matter of time 'til there's a "salary cap" in college football!!!
