FIBA Afrobasket - the African continent Championships are in the knockout stage..
the top 16 teams will play off in single elimination
Algeria, Cameroon, Cape Verde Gabon, Senegal, Uganda, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ivory Coast, Mali, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Angola, Central African Republic, Tunisia, and Morocco remain.
A couple ex-MVC guys are playing - Roberto Fortes (ISU) for Angola, and Chamberlain Oguchi (ISU) for Nigeria.
Nigeria would be one of the favorites given they have several ex-NBA guys but they did lose to Tunisia in pool play.
The other teams that were undefeated in pool play and now going into knockout are:
Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt and Cape Verde - after today, there will be just 8 teams remaining.

Nigeria wins AfroBasket 2015 and grabs the automatic qualifying position for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
They beat Angola 74-65 with Chamberlain Oguchi scoring 19, grabbing 7 rebs, and getting the honor of "MVP of AfroBasket 2015"

FIBA Americas tourney started- US is not there because we've already qualified by winning the FIBA World Championship in 2014
- this is for further Olympic qualifying spots..the top two in this competition go thru to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentine, and Mexico won their opening round games
Argentina (Luis Scola 22pt/14reb, Andreas Nocioni 14pt/12reb) looked strong....Canada also should be strong (Cory Joseph, Melvin Ejim, Andrew Wiggins, Nik Stauskas, Anthony Bennett, Robert Sacre, Kelly Olynyk)
Puerto Rico's Ramon Clemente (Wichita State) is the only MVC player I can find in the competition.
