pretty amazing - this is exactly the same situation as North Carolina...
clear evidence of cheating - even people willing to answer questions and tell you they helped those players cheat, get phony grades, etc...
and yet the NCAA will try like heck to ignore this whole thing...just like they did at UNC...
yet the deeper you dig the more you will likely find they cheated a ton going all the way back to at least 1998 that those people found.
Why does it always take some blogger or a guy from YahooSports - or as in this case, just a simple researcher who is willing to walk onto campus and ask a few people quesitons - and they get all this evidence of cheating?
Shaka may want to pull a Dana Altman and bolt back to VCU.
Betcha NCAA never bothers to even check this out - they won't even ask questions - their investigators are far too busy camping out on campus & tearing thru every file cabinet and closet at SEMO & Bradley...

unlike most schools --- that when corruption is found they just stonewall everything & try to sweep it under the carpet and let it die... while claiming to be doing their own investigation...
Texas is doing what is right...
not only are the doing an aggressive, open investigation - they are also IMMEDIATELY hiring a completely independent outside firm to also come in and investigate to find the violators...
I respect this and I suspect NCAA will also...

More academic fraud investigations by NCAA
this time South Florida...
Sources tell ESPN's Jeff Goodman that the South Florida men's basketball program is under NCAA investigation for possible academic fraud issues.
One player - John Egbunu - whose eligibility has been subjected to question - did play against Bradley in one of those games, then was gone the next year...but the identities of the players in question has not been revealed.

One of the assistant coaches at South Florida just resigned, virtually minutes after the announcement that the NCAA was investigating them for academic fraud. Oliver Antigua, brother of head coach Orlando Antigua, was already restricted by the University of South Florida from recruiting off campus, but then shortly after the news hit about the NCAA investigation, USF announced he had resigned.
Sounds to me like where there is smoke, there is fire, and assistant Oliver Antigua is setting himself up to be the fall guy. Can head coach Orlando Antigua survive? His record is not very good. In his 2 seasons at USF his teams went 17-48, 7-29- by far the worst record in the American Athletic Association over the past 2 years.

Time To Act
Bring back the NCAA 'Death' Penalty....
Or at least some version of it:
1 Year Ban on recruiting class
1 Year Ban playing for Conference or NCAA Tournaments
1 Year Ban from Conference TV money, or, NCAA Tourney money
Shouldn't matter the School or Conference...

Really bad timing for USF as there has been some talk about them and UCF going to the XII as a pair. This could derail any momentum that may have been there for a FL presence.
