Former Bradley G Anthony Fields is transferring to Liberty. (HT @getmerecruited) @ACFields3 http://verbalcommits.com/players/anthony
he will play there for ex-Bradley assistant coach Ritchie McKay and should be eligible immediately since he just graduated...
according to the "Verbalcommits" web site - they have Anthony Fields as taking the last available scholarship that Liberty has until 2016...
but they also list Anthony Fields as redshirting but I believe that is an error - as he should get the grad student waiver & be immediately eligible just like Omari Grier did
Anthony ought to have an outstanding opportunity to get playing time for Coach McKay - he will be one of only 3 seniors...only one of whom (scholarship players) is listed as a guard and none of all the returning players are point guards...and there are NO juniors on the entire squad...so he's one of the only guards with any DI experience, and the ONLY point guard on the squad that's ever spent a day in DI or at any 4-year college.
he has a great chance to make a difference...the opportunity is there..
Liberty was worse than Bradley last season - just 8-24 with FOUR of those wins being weak DII's & DIII's..
so they had just 4 DI wins - Delaware, Furman, Campbell, Radford - virtually all around 300RPI teams
but then six of their top seven players/scorers left or transferred...so they are rebuilding big time -

I get a kick out of that many players leaving an 8 win program and Bradley's 9 win program. Like they are really going to hurt the team by taking their so called talent somewhere else.
Never seemed like Fields ever got much of a chance to show anything while he played for Geno. I hope he gets a real opportunity and plays well for Liberty in the future.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
You are right. Geno determined pretty quickly that he didn't seem to fit his personal idea of a point guard. In the one game Anthony Fields did get a chance to start and play a lot (the game at Indiana State when several of our other players were suspended following the Big Al's incident), he played pretty well.
Fields played 34 minutes in that game and scored 11 points. It was the only time in his career at Bradley that he scored more than 4 points.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Junior guard Anthony Fields was one of four Braves to score in double-figures with a career-high 11 points, but host Indiana State survived for a 64-58 win Saturday afternoon.
