I ran across this when reading about the Indiana All Star game....

Here's a study of where NBA players come from and ranks the states and cities overall and on a PER CAPITA basis...
..over 3,800 NBA players over the past 50 years were looked at...!

Indiana is the #1 STATE in the nation with Muncie, Indiana being the #1 metro area for producing NBA players per capita..
Illinois is 4th per capita

Among BIG CITIES ...
Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, & New York rank 1-2-3-4 in NBA players per capita
