A Lot of misinformation and inaccuracies being said here and there (mostly there)... so a quick history lesson...
The event was held pretty regularly from the Mo era (and possibly even earlier) up til 2009...
then, as simply put as one can - it ended right there...here's the discussion we had in Oct. 2009 about the final ITOO spaghetti supper.
Dr. Cross was hired in late 2009, and made comments that he was not in favor of ever having this event again and he wanted different events to draw people to the new arena on campus (affectionately called Ren-Col) - even tho there really isn't any good reason we couldn't have events there AND at ITOO.
Here's some of the discussions of other past ITOO suppers
In 2004-05 a writeup in the Hilltopics referenced it as a long held ANNUAL EVENT - LINK
In 2007 - the event was altered slightly - and in an effort to get one more big crowd into the FIELDHOUSE before it was demolished - they combined the Spaghetti Supper and the Red-White and had a HUGE crowd AT THE FIELDHOUSE!!
from 2010 onward - despite many fans begging for the old ITOO Spaghetti Supper event - it never happened again and if you check the 2013 thread you will see that the suppers held as substitute events simply were not
done as well or at least to the satisfaction of the fans and it's popularity tanked to only a few dozen people ... the picture doesn't lie...

I like how the current admin wants to listen to fans, wants to know the sentiment of the people of Peoria and wants to appeal to Braves fans - and wants to avoid alienating fans...
so - I sure hope enormous numbers turn out for the ITOO this fall just like they did Tuesday for the intro-lunch.
Go Braves! And Kudos Chris Reynolds & Coach Wardle, Jackie, & staff!
