  • Bradley vs. UC Davis ?

I heard great news this morning. This might have fit in the "Refreshing news about Coach Wardle thread", but I'll start a new thread.

Coach Wardle has personally been in touch with a number of past Bradley greats and former Bradley coaches. He recently reached out to Coach Jim Les, now at UC Davis. I hear that they discussed the possibility of playing against each other in the future, and both agreed it would be a good idea. It would make for a great game in Peoria, but I heard there was also discussion of playing a game at UC Davis as well. Bradley has a lot of open spots on the 2015-16 non-conference schedule, especially for home games, but I do not know if or when this might happen.

Playing a non-conference game at UC Davis would make for a great trip for Bradley fans. There are lots of great things to do near Davis- visit the Northern California wine country and Napa Valley, visit some of the 1849 gold rush communities nearby, take a balloon ride, visit San Francisco or some of the other less populated beautiful coastal areas nearby.
Let's hope this is true and that it happens soon!

Personally, I think this would be a good idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if some don't.
Is there anyone who thinks is would not be a good idea to play Jim Les' UC Davis team? Why?

And we could all greet Jimmy with 5 hearty foot stomps when he enters the arena!
        Kidding of course.

What a great plan - hope it happens!

knowing JL, he would love the foot stomps. Reminds me of the game over at Drake when a certain section of students thought they would get under Dick Versace's skin by all wearing "Versace" wigs. Dick got a kick out of it and actually went up into the crowd and sat and talked and laughed with the students. They got a kick out of it and it defused their plan. Jim would probably come out stomping.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I have a couple acquaintances who do not like JL and who have already voiced their views that they'd never want to see him here - so I know some such fans exist....
Feelings are hard to change - it was years before Dick Versace would return and it might still be a few more before JL or Hersey would return...

Bradley of course but I love what it sounds like BW and CR are doing reaching out to all the past Braves. I would love to see JL come back with UCD and Mo with Nebraska. Heck I'd even like to see Duane Broussard come back with Mo. I always enjoyed talking to DB and if my memory serves me correct he married a girl from Peoria.

Yes, his wife worked at Bradley.
He is now an assistant coach at UCLA under Steve Alford.

How many others has he tried to have leave Bradley? Real loyal to the program.

Chico I never said what he did was right because it wasn't but it's time to let bygones be bygones. Danny wasn't gonna stay and play for Jim even if DB hadn't interfered. I know I may be in the minority but that's how I feel. I really enjoyed my chats with DB and George Barber during Mo's summer camps.

It might be "bygone", but to me anyway, not forgotten.

How could anyone not want to see Jim Les back in town playing BU? That would be absolutely and incredibly fun!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

That's fair just not my opinion.
