In recent years, the Horizon League held opening rounds of their post-season tournament at the campus site of the highest seeded team, then moved the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Championship to the arena of the conference #1 seed.
But today the Horizon League released a report that they will anchor the tournament for the next 5 years at a single host city- Detroit. The first 2 years (2016 & 2017) will be at Joe Louis Arena, then it will switch to the new Detroit Events Center, currently under construction in downtown Detroit, for the final 3 years of the deal.
The Horizon League schools favored a "neutral site", but there are 2 Horizon league teams in the Detroit area (University of Detroit and Oakland U.) which might still be an advantage.
