These are the top five perimeter shooters in the NBA draft
D'Angelo Russell, point guard, Ohio State
Draft projection: Top-5
Despite being the focal point of opposing team's defensive schemes from day 1, Ohio State's freshman guard was absolutely one of the best shooters in college basketball, connecting on 41.1% of his 231 three point attempts.
What made Russell's output so impressive was the attention he received from opposing teams. Rarely did he have much space, or time, to get a clean look at the basket, instead relying on his lightning quick release and incredible ability to shoot off the dribble to carry the offensive load for the Buckeyes.
Another thing that bodes well for Russell's NBA success: more than half (128 ) of his three point attempts were from 24 feet or more from the basket, and he shot 42% on those attempts. With Russell already displaying NBA three point range in game situations, that transition to the NBA should be a relatively seamless one.
Corey Hawkins, shooting guard, UC Davis
Draft projection: second round to undrafted
Measuring under 6-2 at the combine, UC Davis shooting guard Corey Hawkins has a lot to overcome in order to hear his name called on draft night.
One skill that will keep him on the NBA's radar, however, is his elite shooting ability. After making only 32% of his three point attempts as a junior, the progress Hawkins made as a senior was incredible. With over 44% of his field goal attempts coming from beyond the three point arc Hawkins connected on an incredible 48.8% of them.
What really separated Hawkins was his ability to shoot off the dribble. Whether off of step back jumpers, pick and rolls, or pulling up in transition, Hawkins was a threat to shoot the basketball whenever he had the ball in his hands.
Frank Kaminsky, power forward, Wisconsin
Draft projection: Lottery pick
On pure numbers, Kaminsky probably doesn't belong on the list. He shot the ball well, connecting on 41.6% of his three point attempts and 78% from the free throw line, but the volume wasn't there. Whereas some guys on this list will have made twice as many three pointers as he did this past season, Kaminsky's 42 made three's is a relatively small amount.
Where he scores big is on uniqueness, and how that shooting impacts an offense. Because Kaminsky is able to pull a shot blocker away from the basket he has the potential to open up driving lanes for both himself and his teammates that others on this list simply don't.
Tyler Harvey, shooting guard, Eastern Washington
Draft projection: second round
Over the past two seasons at Eastern Washington, Tyler Harvey connected on 43.2% of his 549 three point attempts, an absolutely incredible percentage considering the sheer volume of attempts.
Few people have as quick, and consistent, of a shooting motion as Harvey. Harvey needs little more than a split second to get his shot off, and it's that quickness, combined with range well beyond the NBA three point line, that really forces the defense to gameplan for him.
Whether the rest of Harvey's game can translate to the next level is somewhat in question, as he doesn't have great size or athleticism for an NBA shooting guard. One thing is for certain, though: If his all-around game is good enough to earn him a roster spot, his shooting can definitely open up space for his teammates.
Quinn Cook, shooting guard, Duke
Draft projection: second round to undrafted
In terms of sheer numbers, Cook's 102 made three pointers, while shooting 39.5% from three point range and 89.1% from the free throw line, are hard to match.
Cook benefited from a diverse set of offensive shot creators on Duke, all of whom were good passers. Cook, an exceptional catch and shoot player, was the perfect fit in this regard. Cook does a tremendous job of having his hands and feet ready when he's playing off the ball, and that threat when stationed beyond the three point line really opened things up for Duke's incredible offense.
Honorable mentions: Mario Hezonja (F.C. Barcelona), Kristaps Porzingis (Sevilla), Devin Booker (Kentucky), Pat Connaughton (Notre Dame)

There are also a couple reports that the Kings were impressed enough with Corey Hawkins during workouts that they are mulling over signing him as backup at point guard
Could Corey Hawkins be brought in to be the third point guard on the Sacramento Kings roster? Our Rafe Wong believes so, due to his prolific scoring.

You are probably right -- I doubt they will not pursue yet another PG - but Corey might be viewed as another SG option
...Seth Curry had a fairly impressive summer league stint..trying to do his best Stephen Curry-imitation....but falling well short in a couple ways...
in six games he averaged 24.3 ppg, but kinda got those numbers largely on the basis of volume of shots...
In the notoriously defense-absent summer league, he averaged 19 shots a game!!
He hit 46% overall but only 22% from the arc...
and he also only had 2.7 assists per game - not real impressive if they're expecting to use Seth primarily as a PG.
