Called MVP - it's really the Player of the Week -
Translated article Will is averaging 13.2 ppg, 7.7 assists
In the last game he had 17 pts & 14 assists!!
Their team was just eliminated and Will is on his way back home to Texas - he is not sure where he will play next year.
BTW
I have always enjoyed following our Braves in the pros....
starting with Joe Allen who dominated the Italian pro leagues for years in the 1960's (I have his 1964 Italian Panini rookie card!) - then Versace put a gob of guys in the pros...
Many played in the NBA (Hersey, JJ, Thirdkill, Voise, Mike Williams, JL..)
Molinari likewise had several who went on to fine pro career - including two who played many years at the highest professional level.
And it didn't end there, as Jim Les' players continued with a couple playing in the NBA and many more with fine overseas careers...
but the numbers are falling off now....
JC, Ruffin, Zach Andrews, Boogie Wright, PG, Gilly, Sam, Salley, Cage, Collins and others have wrapped up their pro careers...
Only a few still going strong (Cellus, Will, POB, Warren, Tony Bennett, Taylor Brown)..
Which brings me to the point that when those guys are done -we're gonna have quite a gap.... not one player recruited by Geno has yet to go on and play professionally and it's looking pretty dismal that any ever will! Tyshon came close but was cut before ever playing a minute. Auston Barnes just signed with an agent so maybe he'll catch on with someone.
But once Walt, DSE & those other guys are done, I am gonna miss having the guys in the pros to keep up on...
Maybe this new batch (who so far are all freshmen so 4-5 years away from playing professionally) will produce some but the last four years didn't seem to develop much pro-caliber talent.
