  • ISU gets verbal commitment from 2015 big man- Elvis Harvey

Illinois State moved on from their dissapointment of being dropped by Max Bielfeldt (just kidding ISU people), and tonight got a commitment from 2015 forward 6'8" Elvis Harvey of Oxbridge Academy of West Palm Beach, Florida.
    See video in this link-

He had other offers from Drexel and UNC Greensboro

To me, he looks a little like a kid they had 2 years ago, Jamaal Samuel. He appears a bit raw, but shows good athleticism but with limited offensive skills.

ISU has announced that freshman forward (6'8", 215 lbs.) Elvis Harvey, who was redshirting and has not played in a game yet, has left the team and will transfer. He will have to sit out another full year if he transfers to another D1 school, and won't be eligible until the fall of 2017.

ISU gives their rookies very little playing time (Roland Griffin has played only 8 minutes since Jan. 3, Daouda N'Diaye plays very little, Keyshawn Evans hasn't played at all since the 2 minutes he got back around Christmas, and Matt Hein is redshirting).
..and there's some hint that maybe there are other issues here since the timing is extremely unusual - nobody ever leaves to transfer in February, as you've wasted the entire year redshirting anyway and you're right in the middle of 2nd semester classes)...and now Elvis Harvey says he wants to get out of town and get closer to home down south because of homesickness..

Griffin is hurt. Has a toe issue thats the reason for his liw minutes of late.

I think there's a whole lot more going on with Griffin
Pantagraph & ChicagoHoops are reporting he is suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules.

He's probably suspended because his toe isn't healing fast enough if you believe the ISU people.

well, maybe this will convince you that it is more than an aching toe

"Dan Muller said on his weekly radio show the probability of
Roland Griffin playing again this season is "extremely low."

Elvis Harvey - now at Tallahassee juco
his first game- 4 pts, 2 rebs, 4 turnovers...maybe kinda see why ISU ran him off

                other juco results
Daniel Soetan 1-6 and just 2 pts on Three Rivers win over Lincoln Trail - maybe see why our staff did not offer

Michael Tucker 25 pts, 14 rebs, 6 asst, 2 blk in John A. Logan's first win, then 19 pts, 9 rebs, 3 asst next nite

Wichita commit Samajae Haynes-Jones 16 pts, 5 reb, 1 asst

Brady Ernst (former BU recruit) 16 pts. 9 rebs for Indiana Hills,
                Richardson Maitre 11pts, 3 rebs, 2 asst
