  • Recruit visits coming this weekend

I have heard Coach Wardle and staff have 3 kids visiting this coming weekend. They are all big men, all taller than any of his first 4 recruits.

We can't give any names yet.

Come on D.C, its been 9 hours since you posted this. Give us a hint. Is it someone we are recruiting?, someone new?, someone old?. Coach Wadle and Staff are doing a remarkable job and i trust them 110%. I know whoever they bring in to visit will be worthy of a scholarship. I hope they sign a LOI before leaving campus. Is it Doby?, tell me Ernst.. Thanks again D.Coach for all your info

I am waiting for someone else to contribute some info...

But actually, our coaches can be a bit secretive. They scouted a bunch of uncommitted recruits this past weekend, so whoever they are, I believe the coaches think they are capable of playing at the MVC level.
I don't have any names yet, but will let you know when I do.
I really hope one of them is Doby (or Ernst), though he probably was not one of those that they recently scouted. But he would be a good one and would play immediately for us.

Ernst would be a great pickup, but I'm guessing he would redshirt. He tore his ACL in late February. He broke his wrist (or hand) last summer as well. He's as talented as he is injury prone.

Ya, I would love to see him in a Bradley uniform. I believe he is still 6 months away from the court. Redshirting would be a real likelihood for him. Problem is, I don't think Bradley is even recruiting him. Brady is just one of the players on my wish list. Thought he had a campus visit this week and a scholarship offer from ISU?. Any word how it went?

I think you are right. Bradley made contact with him when Geno was coach, and that was before his injury. I don't think Wardle ever recruited him at Green Bay, and obviously was not scouting him these last couple weeks. I do not know who the 3 visitors are yet, but I doubt Ernst is one of them.

No idea how it went. It was an unofficial visit. I'm not sure what ISU is looking for with their last ride now that Elvis committed. We don't really have an area of need; maybe a 2-guard. If we're going after best available, I'm sure he is on that list.

Thanks Recon, I think Bradley could afford to sign him and redshirt him that first year. We basically have 8 scholarships available for Coach Wardle to play with. 4 left this year, and 4 next year. Xmas time for a coach rebuilding a program.IMO

It's been a quiet weekend for supposedly having recruits in for a visit. I hope whoever comes in for a visit gets to scrimmage with our current players. I think it helped in convincing Ronnie Suggs to sign with us. Quote from Suggs,"after playing with the (Bradley) guys, i feel i can really help the program more than i thought".Ya you can Ronnie, because you will probably start for us.

By now, this weekend's visiting players have returned home. If there had been any offers accepted, I think it's pretty likely we would know by now.

I've heard that there might be a couple of local 2017s on campus this week.

Yes, I have heard there will be unofficial visits Wednesday from Da'Monte Williams, A.J. Youngman, and Romon Douglas Watkins. They are all guards from the class of 2017, and all attend Manual.
