  • Tradition Plays in Peoria - Welcome Chris Reynolds, Brian Wardle

I know word already has started to spread, but we have officially announced the Chris Reynolds, Brian Wardle welcome luncheon:

PEORIA, Ill. - "Tradition Plays in Peoria" will be the theme for a special Bradley Athletics luncheon June 2 for fans to welcome Chris Reynolds and Brian Wardle to the Bradley community.

Ken Goldin has graciously agreed to help organize the event and I am sure everyone will find it a great way to show their support for our new Director of Athletics and Men's Basketball Head Coach. Mark your calendars for June 2 and contact the Braves Club Office (309-677-2667) to reserve your tickets.

"Tradition Plays in Peoria" - thanks BP - I love the overall approach of tying all the new things to the 112 year tradition of Bradley basketball...

I hope every effort will be made to specifically contact and have all the available past Bradley Braves there at the event!!
And make a point of recognizing them & honoring them.

I don't think it's ironic that this event occurs 2 days after JG "retires".

It may seem so, but I don't think the timing of the two events are related. JMHO.

Clearly she was not a fan of these types of events and it could have easily been scheduled in May---prior to her departure.

For the life of me, I do not understand why anyone would not support an event like the one this coming June 2nd. If it brings together the athletic leadership and the fan base, I think it is a good thing. How can it be a bad thing?

I believe Ken Goldin said on a local radio talk show that it was Pres. Glasser who called him and asked him to come out of retirement and help arrange this event. I would not be surprised if she attends.

Probably wants to see how great a program we had until she ruined it.

Hope they make it a yearly function, maybe like the old ITOO days.

Or the postseason banquet or the Preseason Gala/Banquet.

May be that they are waiting until CR is here full time. Heard he is finishing up a job for NU while doing all of the AD things here so he might be burning the candle at both ends for a few more weeks yet.

I also hear his wife's job will not be finished until the school year is complete, so she has not been in Peoria other than a couple quick visits. I hope Chris and all the coaches can get settled in quickly. They are doing a tremendous job in such a short time while transitioning from jobs elsewhere.
