Xzavier Taylor wants to come back?

Xavier, like every other player on Geno's teams got worse every year Geno coached him. This kid clearly has talent, and I am glad he's going to stick around, so we can find out what Wardle can do with him.
A little coaching can go a long ways with kid like this.Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I kinda agree with you...
he was here two years - and yet the very first game he ever played meaningful minutes here - was kind of impressive...nearly a double-double!!
(but shades of things to come as he fouled out)
two full years and 65 games later - here's what we got from him...
0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, blocks, steals...

bu fan 9 - I agree....
remember this thread where we discussed all the low post players Bradley has had over the past 25 years?
as far as ranking all our post players for scoring & rebounding...
Xzavier Taylor does not rank inside the TOP 40 in either category - and yet people complained incessantly about all those guys (like Prosser, Salley, Egolf..) who were WAY, WAY better....
sadly the thread degenerated into an ultra-picky gotcha argument where some were laughably trying to claim Deon Jackson, Cellus, Taylor Brown, etc were mainly our low post players - but the main point was to show that Geno's recruits for the low post position were horrid when compared to the previous couple coaches.
Point was proven pretty effectively I think.

I understand that Taylor (technically) regressed the past year on the court, but BU currently doesn't have a center, or a player taller than 6'8" that's competent for that matter.
At this stage of the year, we can't count on Biefeldt or MVC caliber post-players to commit to BU, and Taylor knows what it's like in the Valley. Wardle has a knack for bringing out the best in post players too. Maybe i'm too nice, but if the kid really wants to work and has the drive to be a good player, then why not?
Besides, not sure about anyone else, but I'd rather have Taylor starting in the post than Shaw. At least Taylor has had some decent games in a Bradley uniform.

I think Wardle will sit down and have a long talk with Xzavier. After his meeting, I believe he will allow "X" to return to the team, the coach feels he is sincere. If he is sincere, I'd certainly allow him back. There is no sense being a hard*** about it. Xzavier would not be the first person his age to make a wrong decision. It is possible his first reaction and decision was based on emotion. I say if Wardle wants him back, I have no problem with it at all. Who knows, maybe will a little discipline and coaching, he could develop into a decent MVC player.

To develop him into a decent MVC post player. He needs that year to mature and I believe the ability is there w/ proper coaching and X's willing to work hard-I just don't know if that ability would be ready by next year.

I would be for his return under the condition that Wardle wants him. I saw sparks in him freshman year that led me to believe he was going to be quite good. I have never seen a player regress as much as he did this year. I think Geno's style and structure (or lack) is the root cause. Bring him back unless we have a better option on the table.Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I have been as hard on X as anybody(X O-Meter anyone?). We have all seen glimmers of talent. With the right coaching X could be a serviceable center. We have no height unless Coach Wardle can pull another rabbit out of his hat. X seems like a nice kid and is a good student who got very bad advice. My guess is Josh and Chin had some influence in causing X to ask for his release. If X is really committed to getting better I'd say take him back.
