Max now rells CBSSports.com that he has cut his list to 3 schools- Indiana, Iowa State, and Nebraska (he dropped DePaul)-

And Max told the Indiana Rivals site that he will make his decision this weekend, and the Indiana people seem confidant he will pick IU.

If my alma matter, Iowa State University, picks up Max, scholarship or walk on, I will cease all financial support for their sports programs...

I can only hope Max didn't realize what he was saying and that Max is not that in love with Max.

so, another change...but then the very next post in response says..
"Thanks for the late night update Rabs. Let's hope the next news is that he's officially coming to IU. We definitely need another quality big man this year."

gotta wonder if this is just in jest because Indiana leads the big Ten in big men who come on highly touted but flop big time (Beas Hamga, Hanner Perea, Tijan Jobe...some were 5-Star)

well, that weekend came and went & no decision....

well, "early this week" has also already come & gone...so who knows how long it'll be ... it is an interesting side-show story now that the spring signing period is all over...


Nebraska has only ONE open scholarship and it is looking like they are not going to hang their hopes on Max - they are hosting another transfer - a 7-footer...

Chicago people as well as Iowa people beginning to accept this is inevitable - that Hoiberg will be the Bulls' coach shortly

I am a little confused as to why everyone here thinks he owes it to Bradley to finish up there. With Mitch Gilfillan on staff at ISU you could argue that there is more of a connection there...

as fully expected, Max is delaying his decision further due to the uncertainty of Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State..but Max acts like this has UNEXPECTEDLY taken him by surprise..

This seems like a reasonable thing to wait on before making a decision. He's waited a long time already, why would he want to choose a school then find out the coach will be leaving.

If I was in Max's shoes, I'd do the same thing. I think just about anybody would. I don't see anything wrong with it.

If I were him i would just wait until January or February... That way he could be sure if the team he chooses is a tournament team or not.

most schools try to wrap up 2015 recruiting and fill their scholarships by end of the signing period -
if he were a blue chipper a lot more programs might hold one open but if he waits long enough - as we see happening - then the happenings will actually dictate what his options are...
I'd like to think he doesn't want to be left with just one option and no choices - say if Nebraska gives their only remaining scholarship to the guy who is visiting this coming week.

The list of kids who aimed way, way too high the first time around & even the 2nd time around is too lengthy to repeat....(from Cully Payne to Fields, Zecevic, and half the IU roster the past few years)
I hope Max isn't making the same mistake...

I don't think Max is trying to portray himself as an all-American or blue chipper. I believe he just wants to go to a school that will be in the NCAA tournament. I really don't think he is so concerned about playing 35-40 minutes a game.
