Do you think the officials from last nights WSU - SIU game were more leniat towards the Shocks, Salukis, or pretty evenly sucked?

I thought the officials were awful for WSU, especially in the 1st half. They were allowing handchecking and shoving on the perimeter, and were calling nothing on the interior. Thomassen ended up on his back 3 times without a whistle.

It never ceases to amaze me how SIU can perpetually get away with so much of what's been deemed illegal (hand checking, moving screens, and slapping at the ball/hitting the player).
Even the SIU fans know it and post openly about it, knowing they get the benefit of calls.

I don't hate them, in fact I admire their ability to get away with it most of the time!

Ok, thanks! I was just wondering how the rest of the Valley felt.

I totally agree about the hand checking as Mullens puts his on the opposing players chest to keep him from changing directions; I do not blame them as it is the officials job to call fouls.

Personally, I believe this was a poorly officiated game. When the announcer said Higgins is one of the best refs in the Mid West, I knew we were in trouble!

If you listen closely, Dan McLaughlin even made mention of the fouls that weren't being called on more than one occasion. He first made a few comments of "Boy they're lettin' em play tonight" which then became "Young fouls Couisnard, but no whistle". When the home team is allowed to push and shove like that, the home team usually wins.

The reason why higgins is considered good is because the valley has a lot of bad refs.
