Max seems to have numerous quality opportunities to extend his education/basketball for one additional year- but I do not see Max coming here. Guessing he wants to spend his last year on a team that is not re-tooling and starting over---and I also do not see him going to Illinois State--he doesn't seem to be the type of player who fits the style that Muller wants to play. I think it is most likely he will be choosing an out of state school.
    Bradley football--undefeated again this year

I'm a little late to the game in this thread...but I'm amazed to see all the talk of Max to Illinois St. I truly don't believe he will end up at Bradley so I haven't been paying too much attention to the Max threads.

That said, I don't believe that he or his family has ever been quoted saying that he is considering Illinois St. Where'd that come from? Max will not be going to or even consider Illinois St.

Max seems completely convinced he will not stay at Michigan.
He knows if he goes to another BCS school there's a chance he'd sit the bench behind their starters.
So if he wants to play - pick a midmajor - all the midmajor options are about the same except ONE.
One option only allows him to play right in front of all his family and friends for a huge home crowd that will give him all the cheers he'd ever imagine..
I think he knows that and I am hopeful he chooses wisely and not like Marcus Arnold, Ibby Djimde, Zach Lofton, or Bawa Muniru who all chose very poorly when they transferred.

I think he would play at Iowa State and Butler.

I am not so sure about Iowa State. 6'8" starter Georges Niang is returning, as is another starter 6'9" Jameel McKay, and they are expecting to land 5th year grad transfer Tyler Harris from Providence who averaged 10 ppg and 4.4 rpg last season. He is visiting the Iowa State campus this weekend.
Plus, I see they are still among the finalists for 5-star big man Cheick Diallo, who could be a one-and-done player.-

...so a starting spot is anything but guaranteed.

I never really believed Max was that interested in coming to Bradley. I think it was more wishful thinking by some people. Max obviously wants to continue his education. He also wants to continue to play basketball. I believe he is more concerned about going to a school that provides him a legitimate opportunity to play in the NCAA, than he is about the number of minutes he plays.

Agree. I believe Max was just being nice to BU and its fans, by putting them on his list of schools he was exploring. He had to know he was going to get recruited by all sorts of other BCS schools which could also meet his academic desires.

As soon as Max expanded his list of schools he was interested in to include BCS Schools, BU was done.

Seen this story too many times before to think otherwise.

Just wish he would be more up front with BU and its fans and let them know his preference would be a BCS School which meets his grad school academic needs (and provide a scholarship). This will not really disappoint any BU fans, as we know our chances at a BCS school level player are slim and none, and, slim left town a long time ago.

                    Max Bielfeld

Ariz BU Fan.....I agree with you! Max should have been upfront with Bradley and its fans. His dalliance with Ill. St. was to me an affront to BU...He really had/has no interest in furthering his education at ISU. Max is a guy who spent his college basketball career at a great big ten school mostly sitting on the pines and then they wouldn't even give him the benefit of a schollie for his last year. Now he appears to be trying to prove something with this long list of colleges who want him. IMO Bradley should forget Max...He isn't our guy.

Through all of the Max Bielfeldt transferring Michigan stories, I've not heard or seen one quote where he himself has gone on record and said he is considering Bradley. I've seen and heard a lot of rumors, from so called reliable sources and people with inside information, but nothing from Max himself.

For that reason, I will not accuse Max of "toying" with Bradley or "leading" them on. There is a clear difference between him being contacted by Bradley and him contacting Bradley.

                        Did you forget this?
Peoria Notre Dame grad and Michigan junior Max Bielfeldt considering Bradley for final year

Michigan fourth-year junior Max Bielfeldt of Peoria said Thursday he's talked with new Bradley coach Brian Wardle and is considering playing at BU during his final year of eligibility in 2015-16.

"I have spoken to Coach Wardle and there is an interest to potentially come," he said. "I'm currently just weighing my other options."
When asked what he liked about Wardle and the BU program, Bielfeldt responded: "I like how he's trying to build a high-character team similar to how Michigan recruits. It would definitely be fun to play in my home city in front of so many familiar faces and fans at a program that I grew up watching."

Good post. Evidently you don't have a dislike for Max as other(s) do.

I don't know MB but he seems like a smart young man-must be since he is graduating in 4 years from UM while still playing basketball. There are not a lot of guys that do that. (understand AG is also graduating from BU in 4 years-congratulations to him also)
I have no idea what MB majored in or what he wants for his Masters degree, so I have to ask if BU even offers what he wants? That might factor into his decision as to what school he decides to attend.
Would I like to see him at BU next year? Absolutely as I'm sure most BU fans would like to see as well as his family would love that opportunity but I'm sure they are encouraging (as any parent would do) him to make the decision that will benefit him in the long run.
                              Just my thoughts on MB

                                Max Bielfeld Leaving Michigan...

For the record....I don't dislike Max; I don't know him and have never met him.
But I have an opinion regarding how he is going about locating a school/BB Program, how he is treating Bradley (The Ill. St. dalliance and what appears to me to be insincere statements regarding his interest in BU), and the long list of programs/schools he is considering. To me, his actions are like those of a 17 to 18 year old high school senior not a 22 year old young man who has graduated from a highly regarded Big 10 institution. While I would also like to see him at Bradley, I don't believe this will ever happen so IMO we should pick up our marbles and move on....We will be Okay without him.
