Wednesday, April 15- official start of NLI signing dates

Wednesday, April 15 is tax filing deadline day for those who are procrastinating getting their income taxes done.

It is also the first date of the 2015 Spring Signing period for the National Letter of Intent-- April 15 through May 20 - the final phase of the 2014-2015 basketball season worth getting excited about.

If anyone knows of any signings by any MVC team, let us know and we'll try to keep track of them.
I believe Bradley will also have several signings during that period, though we do not expect any to be announced tomorrow (Wed. 4/15).

except the two recent juco kids (Missouri State's Dequon Miller & SIU's Mike Rodriguez) and the big Lithuanian kid at Evansville)
..so I am interested to see who else signs - surely Bradley should get a couple....right??

Now the real work begins. All of his assistant coaches are in place and the challenges of recruiting and putting a team together for next year begin.

I don't expect this spring to be a real good recruiting class, do to the late start the coaching staff is getting. We may get some players they were recruiting to play for them in the Horizon League, and that will help get us through our first season.

Next fall is when we should be getting our hopes up for some good early signees. The next several weeks should be real interesting.

Bradley has a good shot at freshman transfer Daeshon Francis. And incoming freshman Julian Torres and Antoine Pittman. Good fit for Wardle system and good start to a new era.

Well, we could use a point guard. I don't know how good any of the three Green Bay recruits were. I wonder how many, if any, Bradley would accept. I would expect Bradley to carry two or three open scholarships until next year. Currently, I believe we have four more scholarships opening up next year.

One of the 3 Green Bay commits is 3-star point guard Joel Okafor of Richmond, Indiana (which is also the hometown of former BU point guard Billy Wright). He has not announced yet whether he'll keep his commitment or ask for a release like the other two commits have said they'll do.

He's had a very strong senior season, and if he decides to de-commit, he'll get interest from a lot of schools.

Julian Torres just got his release from Green Bay and now says he's wide open & given the desperation some bigger schools (like Illinois) show in the spring trying to fill rides and land big men - I suspect he will get some decent interest - but I hope he signs with Bradley
