According to ESPN.com both Fred Van Fleet and Ron Baker will be returning for their senior seasons. Van Fleet confirmed to ESPN.com that he was coming back and sources told ESPN that Baker would be back as well. Retaining Gregg Marshall as head coach and being told by the NBA Draft Advisory Committee that they would both be 2nd round draft choices convinced both players to stay, which is bad news for the rest of the MVC. In their way too early top 25 ratings ESPN.com has the Shockers rated as 10th.

OK - here's a tough question...regardless whether either Baker or Van Vleet would have gotten selected - the possibility exists that they might have gone undrafted....
BUT-- How many players have left the Missouri Valley Conference early to head to the NBA Draft??
I can think of a couple....
-Patrick O'Bryant
-Benoit Benjamin
-Cliff Levingston
-ISU's Rico Hill left a year early and did get picked in 2nd Rd - but never made an NBA roster
Ben Coupet did but wasn't drafted, Anthony Parker considered it very seriously after his junior year but came back to Bradley for his senior season.
Doug McDermott left the MVC after his junior year but not to go to the NBA - although he probably would have gotten drafted.
Larry Bird was drafted after his junior year at Indiana State but returned for his senior season.
anyone else??

Chris Carr, from SIU, left after his junior year. He made the Phoenix Suns roster.

Troy had sat out a year so he did leave before his eligibility was up but he went undrafted
Lewis Lloyd played four years of college two at NMMI (juco) and is listed as graduated from Drake - so did he still have a year left?
Ozell Jones transferred to Fullerton to finish his college years
Lewis I don't recall well - transferred to Tulsa from ORU
but there aren't many who do so and succeed - so I think both Baker & FVV made the right move
