Drew Adams is a native of Bloomington, Indiana. He has spent the last 3 seasons (2012-2015) as an assistant coach at New Mexico (one under Steve Alford and the last 2 under Craig Neal), after spending one season there (2011-2012) as Director of Basketball Operations. Prior to that he spent 1 season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Indiana (2010-2011). He also spent 2 seasons as a student assistant at Tennessee. He played basketball for 2 seasons at Florida Community College of Jacksonville before transferring to Iowa, where he played a season under Steve Alford.

And Indiana basketball writer and expert Jeff Rabjohns reports this-
Drew Adams has strong Midwest ties, is a tireless recruiter, will be a terrific addition to new coach Brian Wardle's staff at Bradley.
From other references I can find, he is said to have extensive recruiting connections, including some internation connections, and he was pivotal in landing several of New Mexico's players, including winning the recruiting battle with Bradley for Deshawn Delaney

New Mexico's other assistant also just left - to take the head coaching job at San Diego.
He is a San Diego alum but has zero head coaching experience!
Drew Adams is one of the connections to New Mexico that helped them get Obij Aget & Sam Logwood..both of whom were recruited by Bradley out of La Lumiere and so if they decide to look for more playing time elsewhere...hmmm...
