    regardless - lefty-
the firing of JG, the firing of Cross, the firing of Geno, the buyouts, the relatively "secret" actions of the board to get to the bottom of the false reports tyhat were given to the Board and the lack of transparency coming from the Athletic Dept & Dr. Cross - the hiring of Chris Reynolds, not to mention all the multiple aspects of the story about the overspending in Athletics and the damage it has done campus-wide and the meetings on campus that got hijacked by the admin so that they wouldn't have to address the finances and the faculty's salary & bonus freezes...
plus the consideration of Jerrance for HC, then the hiring of BW, the hiring of Adams, the departure of players, etc, etc, etc...even the few & far between reports of players being offered, making visits to BU, or going elsewhere..
have all been reported here and reported so accurately & before anyone else knew of it, that those doing the reporting have literally been scolded for jumping the gun when in fact they had not - they just knew before anyone else.

In the meantime - if you recall the column that Kirk Wessler jumped to print about the Jerrance Howard case - and all the inaccuracies that were later printed with a tiny apology buried deep in the paper as they always do - he had the story all wrong....as did the PJS report about the Kent State lawsuit...
Bradley did NOT win that suit nor did Bradley come out ahead or defeat their claims or get exonerated as DR claimed... - Bradley LOST by summary judgement - LINK - LINK - LINK
...kinda proves just who has done the best job finding and reporting the truth. if a person is right he should stand by his claim he is right!
If he is wrong he ought to fess up and apologize.

IMO Geno should get some credit for leaving Wardle Cunningham, but not a whole lot. The problem is that Geno landed Cunningham in no small part by hiring his ex AAU coach, and recruiting several of his ex teammates including one of his best friends in Taylor. So Wardle inherited a package instead of a player, and he may have had to decide whether keeping Cunningham would be worth keeping Chin, and Taylor and Morgan, or at least giving them the minutes to keep them happy. I don't blame him for wanting to bring in his own guys, even if it cost us a good young talent. I don't know if this is how it went down but it wouldn't surprise me.

I think Thomas could blossom down the road. The rest of the roster is of course senior loaded and that's a result of Geno loading up on JUCOs as a last gasp due to his prior recruiting failures. The good news is it gives Wardle a lot of scholarships to use and a year to use them.

Cunningham was just inside the Top 10 in Illinois in 2014 and Thomas was ranked #19 by scout.com but ESPN ranks only the Top 30 Illinois kids and does not have Thomas in the Top 30.
I think everyone else saw that Donte still has a long way to go and his 2.5 ppg average with 23% shooting from the arc don't even rate him anywhere among the best freshmen in the Valley...

          Who Were Those Recruits?

I'm still upset BU and the PJS ran Molinari out of town with possibly the best incoming recruits and returning frosh at BU in the last 25 years!

Talk about fall out, take a look at who BU lost during the Mo - Les changeover..

Can you please name the recruits you speak of that Coach Mo had coming in here. I can't remember who they were. Thank you.

Danny Granger, Joan Tucker, and Antoine Tisby.

Tisby would have left anyway as his academics were a disaster. He and Tucker left before the next coach was hired. Granger left after a few games. Both Tucker and Granger were tampered with by other coaches encouraging them to transfer. Granger received dozens of phone calls illegally from the New Mexico coaches while he was enrolled and playing at Bradley. They initially lied and said they never called him, but then the Albuquerque Journal used the FOIA to obtain cellphone records from New Mexico university phones proving the dozens of improper calls.

Thomas was a 3 star per Scout and he was doing very well for Thornwood-- I can't find it but probably averaging 15+ points and a double double)-- before a season ending injury in late December 2013 which certainly hurt his stock.

Also, Thomas only got 11.9 min/game and as a true freshman it's not fair to compare him to other "freshmen" like Hawkins (He's what, 21?). He certainly has a ways to go but I'd hope we don't lose him as I think he could be a substantial contributor his last couple years.

If Donte Thomas decides to leave and go elsewhere then I wish him well - but I kinda wonder if he'll end up like Devon Hodges, Jalen Crawford, Andrew Davis, Stefan Zecevic, and others who never got another DI opportunity after leaving Bradley - kinda proving what maybe a lot of us already knew....

Every school has a staff full of guys who evaluate talent and know who the good players are....
I think a good measure of how highly rated Donte Thomas is or was...
might be to list the other DI schools that had offered or were pursuing him...

When Donte verballed to Bradley - he pretty much said he was NOT getting any other offers, and that interest from schools had just started...

He had exceedingly few other offers.
