  • Bradley vs. Pitt Sunday at 12:10pm Eastern, 11:10 am Central

The Bradley-Pitt game will be the early game on Sunday, scheduled for 12:10 pm in Auburn Hills, and 11:10 am Central time.

It is the only game scheduled until the Bucknell-Memphis game at 2:15 pm Eastern, so CBS should stay with the Bradley game through it's entirety.

Here is the schedule of games--

For Bradley fans who have ordered tickets and are coming to the game, Bradley will have the same kind of setup as they had Friday. They will have people at the Will Call window for fans to pick up their tickets.

Bradley is trying to arrange a pregame party in Auburn Hills, but so far, there is nothing scheduled. The problem is the fact that the game is so early, and no restaurants are open that early. If we hear of any arrangements, they will be posted here.

BU-Pitt preview courtesy of Bradley SID Bobby Parker--
STATS Writer After its first NCAA tournament win in 20 years on Friday, Bradley never lost its focus. Despite the excitement from a 77-73 win over No. 4 seed Kansas, the 13th-seeded Braves remained poised as they approached Sunday's Oakland Regional second-round game against fifth-seeded Pittsburgh in The Palace of Auburn Hills, Mich. ``The locker room was pretty subdued and business as usual,'' said Bradley coach Jim Les, who added his players have exhibited a ``quiet confidence'' since the win. ``We want to be proud, but there's still work to be done.'' Bradley became the 18th No. 13 seed to advance to the second round since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. Only three - Oklahoma (1999), Valparaiso (1998) and Richmond (1988) - of those have advanced to a regional semifinal. Bradley (21-10) led by 14 with 15:38 left, but needed Will Franklin to hit two free throws and a wide-open layup to send Kansas to a second straight first-round exit. It was Bradley's first NCAA tournament appearance since 1996, and its first win since beating 10th-seeded Texas-El Paso in 1986. Les was the point guard on the 1986 Bradley team. ``Being a player is more of a personal satisfaction,'' Les said, comparing the two experiences. ``Now it's like being a part of the tradition and history of Bradley basketball and being part of putting it back on the map. Seeing all of the people now that have been affected. It's more fun to be a part of that.'' Marcellus Sommerville scored 21 points and made five 3-pointers, and Franklin added 14 points. Bradley has won eight of its last nine, with the lone loss coming to Southern Illinois in the final of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Bradley, one of four MVC teams to reach the NCAA tournament, is trying to join conference rival Wichita State in the round of 16. The seventh-seeded Shockers advanced Saturday by

One thing that is immediately apparent. Pitt fans seem a little more mature and respectful than the KU fans that creeped in here the past few days. Looking over this board and their message boards, their fans seem to respect Bradley, and there is no silly trash talking.

I noticed the 4th link, Kirk Wessler's column titled "BU feeling the buzz" appears to be incomplete. If anyone can add the rest, or tell us what it says, we fans in Auburn Hills would appreciate it.

              Palace and back.
"I didn't believe it at first," senior gaurd Tony Bennett said.
"It's kind of funny," Tauai said. "It's exciting to see what new car they're going to use each day. Yesterday it was a Charger. Today it was a Trailblazer."
These are new trails the Braves are blazing. Bradley hadn't won an NCAA game since 1986 until the Friday night victory over 12th ranked Kansas. Now the Braves will try to win two in the same NCAA tournament for the first time since 1955, when they won two before losing in the West Regional title game.
That could take a little getting used to.
Bradley fans have been so starved for a big winner, the temptation is to be satisfied with one triumph over one of the biggest names in college basketball. There is danger in turning the win over Kansas into something bigger than life.
"We're not done," Bennett insisted Saturday afternoon, as he nursed a strained neck suffered when 6'11 Kansan Sasha Kuan dived on top of him Friday night.
No, Bennett and his teammates would like to enjoy the royal treatment and the TV exposure and the adulation of their fans as long as possible. These are the things coach Jim Les promised then would come, if they would commit to his program and bond together and play the game with passion and purpose.
These are the things Les remembered form his days as the BU point guard on that last team to win an NCAA tounament game, and they are part of his quest to put Bradley back on the basketball map.
The Braves could get used to this.
Golf carts carry them down hallways to their appointed media interviews in the Palace.
"It's a two-minute walk! And we're riding golf carts!" Bennett said with a giggle. "They treat use like pros."
The Braves returned to their headquarters, the Somerset Inn in nearby Troy, after the win over Kansas and were welcomed by cheering fans.
They retired to their rooms and found the doors decorated with signs---congratulations on whipping the Jayhawks and good luck against Pitt---left by the cheerleaders from Missouri Valley brother Southern Illinois.
Their getting telephone calls from everywhere.
Junior forward Zach Andrews said he had 32 voice mails and 41 text messages awaiting him after the win. He stayed up till 5 a. m. and answered every one.
People are buzzing about Bradley basketball again, and everybody in the program could get used to this , right quick.
"I never really went to a Bradley game until they started recruiting me," point guard Danil Ruffin said.
Ruffin is the son of a former Bradley player and a lifetime Peorian. That tells you how far off the local radar the Braves had fallen in the past 20 years. It was reflected in recruiting, asPeoria high schools annually churned out all-staters and Bradley could barely get them to consider staying in town. Who would go to BU if there was an opportunity to play for a big-name program?
But here are the Braves today. Conquerors of a ranked team that represents a school with more victories than all but two in the history of the sport, one win away from being the Cinderella in the Big Dance, and about to take the floor on national network TV for the second time in two weeks.
Ruffin finds himself recognized around town now. He hears people talking Bradley basketball. He hears young kids excited about the program, and the former Peoria High School star has one thought:
"The better players in Peoria should stay home and play here, because we can win," Ruffin said.
Yes, everybody associated with Bradley basketball could get used to this.

Here's a link to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette with their take on today's game.

Pretty good article about the Braves. A link to another story is on the page. The writer there says Pitt got a Christmas present in March after Kansas went out!
