  • Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge Series

I know this was probably not a secret, but The Valley has officially announced the revival of the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge Series and the Braves will be headed to Boise, Idaho Dec. 20 to face the defending MWC champion Broncos. I went ahead and put the UT-Arlington date on the schedule page, too.

I like it. Especially with not having the bracketbuster series I think it's good to restart something like this.

The Mountain West finished just ahead of us in Conference RPI this year. I like it. These are some fun matchups.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I take that back. We finished 11, and the Mountain West was 14. Still, they have some good teams that will provide some fun matchups in the future.

The conference RPI rankings vary depending on who's website you consult. Some include games played after the regular season, and thus are different.

RealtimeRPI.com shows the Mountain West Conference #11 and the Missouri Valley #12-

Here's kind of a new idea....

the Mountain West Conference is sponsoring their own early season Invitational Tournament...in the Cayman Islands!!!!
(an "exempt event" in partnership with Global Sports Management - meaning that teams can play multiple games and no matter how many they count as only one against their schedule limit)

The tourney will have selected MWC members (at least one is guaranteed) - then they will invite other teams...
It appears that San Jose State is one of the teams in the first Cayman event in 2017.

                  Please please please ... ... ...

Tell me there will be some or any kind of a fan plane or bus zipping out to this game in Boise!!!!! My family had the honor of being out there camping a long time ago in the mid 1970's and the livelihood and fun to be had there were immeasurable! My GOD! The chance to be out there again AND supporting THE Bradley Braves would be such an honor!!!!!

                  My GOD!!! It's full of stars ... ... ...

Loyola gets New Mexico in the MVC/MWC Challenge...and most MVC fans are gonna have to get used to the new name of the Lobos' arena...

It's been called The Pit for as long as most can remember but now is officially
                      WisePies Arena...

the naming rights were bought by a small local pizza outfit that has only three locations - for $5 million naming rights fee....

although almost everyone still calls the arena "The Pit"...
so they didn't really get what they wanted when they paid for naming rights.
Fans comments go all the way from "it's a silly name" to "this has to be a joke"
WisePies Pizza and Salad is part of New Mexico Lobos basketball history after purchasing naming rights to The Pit.

The iconic home of New Mexico Lobos basketball will now be known as WisePies Arena aka The Pit.

I would have thought "The Pan" would have been an appropriate replacement for "The Pit"

Wise Pie's Arena, aka, 'The Pan"......
