Beware of April Fools jokes today.

There are always a few fake sports stories that emerge on April 1st that fool a few people, so be warned.

Here is one of them-

Sources: Mike Shaw, Warren Jones, Ka'Darryl Bell, Omari Grier and Jackson Kane are the only players expected to return to Bradley.

With that being said, Josh Cunningham is expected to transfer from Bradley.

Bradley coach Brian Wardle has been meeting one-on-one with his team. He is expected to release these players from their scholarships.

As of now, Kendahl Amerson, Tramique Sutherland, Xzavier Taylor and Nate Wells have all been granted their release.

I have expected a couple of those names to transfer, but this is the first report I've seen of it.
By the way, there was no mention of Donte Thomas or Jermaine Morgan.

I am totally fine with those guys leaving--and I predict it will actually make us BETTER next year---allowing coach Wardle to get his own players on board sooner to build our program back to a contender

I have seen nothing official but the source is reliable and he works at WEEK with Jim Mattson

Fields also not mentioned and some have no redshirt year left..

Kind od surprised at a couple of those names especially Wells and Sutherland. I think Taylor could have been a decent player if he had stuck it out and taken a redshirt next year and let the new staff teach him how to play and get better. Amerson I know nothing about but didn't he lose a year of eligibility w/ sitting out this past year.
Also didn't the NCAA tighten up the transfer hardship rule including when coaches leave. If hardship rule applied then player gets an extra year but tacked onto the end of his playing career and not right away.

I have made two calls to my inside sources, and though neither could confirm this completely, both said they believed it was probably true and that the names mentioned as leaving were consistent with what they have previously heard.

So this is not an April Fools Joke. I am thinking this report is probably true. If so, good work Aaron Ferguson!

nothing will attract interest from unsigned kids and transfer kids like a ton of open IMMEDIATE playing time...
and I am sure if Brian Wardle is going to get on the phone and start gauging kids' interest - he wants this stuff done
and out of the way so everyone he talks to will know he's serious about finding five guys who want to start right now!
