BTW - here's the latest long laundry list of Kirk Wessler's requirements for our next coach...

I can assume what he's saying is that Geno couldn't coach either offense or defense, scheduled too soft, went after way too many juco kids, and he doesn't like assistants at the Big Five schools

he didn't list requirements really??¦??¦he was designing the perfect coach??¦.in his opinion??¦..

Stats don't always tell the whole story. How many times did the offense of the other team sputter out because we ended up playing their bench for the last 1/4 to 1/3 of the game? BU was far from the 4th best defense in the Valley this season, and for anyone to imply that they were, I would question whether they actually attended any games.

the main promise made when Geno was hired was that his style of play would be fun for Bradley fans -
fast paced, "push the tempo", high scoring, up-tempo-style..but said NOT to sacrifice on defense...

It was, of course, anything BUT...with Bradley at the bottom in offense every year - and really,
the ONLY skilled offensive players were leftover guys - Egolf, DSE, TB, Walt Lemon

BTW - this reference even touts "one of the top freshman classes in the conference"
..."Crawford, Hodges, Stewart, Wells .. Shayok"

PEORIA, Ill. ? The Bradley men's basketball program received a signed National Letter of Intent from Ka'Darryl Bell (Chicago, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest High School) Wednesday.

And I'd like 10 million dollars and a Ferrari for my next birthday.

We don't always get what we want, and it isn't likely anyone will ever get all the things Kirk asks for. His criteria would have excluded an awful lot of very successful coaches, including Ben Jacobsen, as well as highly successful guys like Brad Stevens, Shaka Smart, Mark Few, Tom Izzo, and many more. None of those guys had previous success as a head coach before being hired by the schools they became successful at.

Makes it sound like if Chin is gone they are gone. That article also states Amerson is a sophomore. This is incorrect isn't it? He should be a junior unless I'm mistaken.
                Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

Yes, the article says this about Amerson
"...Donte Thomas and sophomore guard Kendahl Amerson are the only other Braves with more than one year of eligibility remaining."

that is not exactly correct, as Amerson is currently a junior having spent 2 years at juco (South Plains & Eastern Utah)

I suspect Chin and Nick Irvin have racked up a lot of long distance minutes positioning themselves for whatever happens.

Has the problem at BU been that CC can't evaluate talent or was it more a case that GF didn't develop the talent that was there. I, personally, never seen a lot of player development and that goes on the head coach not the recruiter.
I asked one very highly respected coach from this area if BU has any talent this year and his answer was yes and it was up to GF to make that talent work together so the team could be successful. He felt there was enough talent for BU to be a top 5 team in the MVC.
I'm sure CR will do everything he can to keep the 2 freshmen on the Braves

I agree with half of your second sentence. The latter part. I respectfully disagree with the talent evaluation. Other than Sutherland & Josh there is very little talent and both of them have shortcomings. Maybe I missed something watching them this season, please tell me who has talent that I missed. Those two would not have started at WSU or UNI and most of the players that got time wouldn't even have been on the upper teams rosters ,let alone got any playing time. TJ maybe would have played at a few schools but after him not much.

I can agree w/ you about lack of talent but sometimes that lack of talent is because a player doesn't work hard or isn't pushed to bring out the best in his talents.
I think of MS as being one of those players. I believe he was suppose to be a 3 or 4 star coming out of HS and then have to ask the question: was he overrated or did he rely on his HS laurels and not continue to work as hard as he needs to or did he just not develop his skills.
I see so many of these players that seem to be going through motions instead of playing BB. I'm not sure if it's lack of talent, lack of coaching, lack of BB skills or a combination of all of them.
I do see lots of potential in JC and some future potential in DT and hope we can keep both of these guys. The X man was a project coming out of HS and w/ proper coaching might still be decent. Out of rest of the guys that will be seniors all I would say is I wish they worked as hard as NW.
I still go back to the coaching aspect of it and it all starts w/ tough love and discipline which, I have heard from very reliable sources, wasn't a strong suite of GF
